Giants fans need dose of negative
The results of that study also showed the importance of negative feelings in contributing to how much fans enjoyed the game.
"Obviously, winning helps people enjoy a game. But we're finding that it doesn't help to have a game where you have positive feelings the whole game – negative feelings are an important part of enjoying a game."
Moral of the story: Keep up the good work, McCoven. We haven't become Giants fans without a healthy dose of negativity.

So basically they’re saying that fans like exciting games where both teams are competitive?
Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.

I mean, come on. This study is based on research conducted on upwards of ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTEEN PEOPLE who were watching ONE OHIO STATE GAME!
If that’s not thorough, I don’t know what is!
But really, I guess if you have to study more than 113 people to determine that suspense makes things enjoyable, you should probably just give back your grant.
No offense meant to Grant.

Just more evidence that our system of education is setting up all the wrong incentives and examples.
It would just be too much to ask for these associate professors of communication at Ohio State to, you know, work on teaching, huh? What the hell is a professor of communication anyway?

They work hard
and they play hard.

I know you nerds know NOTHING about the real game of baseball, or any other athletic endeavor requiring teamwork under physical stress.

HOT STUFF, COMING THROUGH
Rafael Rodriguez: #8 on our list, tearing up Scottsdale, and has been alive long enough to see the Warriors make the playoffs once.
