My faith is briefly restored!
What a season Greinke had, STATS!:
229.1 IP, 195 H, 51 BB, 242 SO, 9.50 K/9, 2.0 BB/9, 2.16 ERA, 2,33 FIP, +9.4 WAR

I was really afraid CC might win the award. WINZ! RINGZ!

I figured that if Greinke lost it, Felix would win it. The voters aren’t that dumb.

Felix was better but they were close-ish. Throw in a WS ring and YANKEES and I was afraid.

Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.

Fun Greinke Quotes
"I was about 20 times smarter before this season started than I am now."
"The game was close so, that was important. If I hit a guy, I want him to be hurt, at least feel it."
“There definitely will be flying cars, but whether there’ll be flying cars for most people to use, it’ll probably take a long time to straighten everything out, all the rules and hassles. It’ll take a while to figure out how to keep people from crashing into each other.”
“I could hit me if someone were on base. It wouldn’t be easy, but I could do it. If no one were on base, I wouldn’t care as much, so I could get me out.”
“I’d say the average person wouldn’t eat a Chipotle burrito and still do his running, full speed, like me. That’s why they call me special.”
“For the first month of the season, (Billy Butler) has definitely been an above-average first baseman. That’s hard for me to say because I never thought anyone would say that but him and his family.”
Two years ago, with Alex Gordon struggling, Greinke pulled him into the video room to show him a clip of Greinke hitting his home run. “In case you forgot,” Greinke said, “this is what a home run looks like.”
On hoping President Obama would cuss him out at the All-Star game: “Because none of the White Sox guys like me. So I was hoping that he’d recognize me and be like, ‘You punk, I hate you.’ But he didn’t do that.”

a great quote
I read this in a SI article about him a few months back…I think a lot of people didn´t like it because it was cocky. I think it´s hilarious.

It’s hard to be down on a guy for acting cocky when he has a history social anxiety. I’d much rather him be a smart ass than depressed.

Here's another
Wow, 15 strikeouts, a new club record, and in only eight innings of work. For some reason, Greinke didn’t know he’d broken Mark Gubicza’s record, thinking Luke Hochevar had 15 instead of 13 previously. The crowd knew. “I didn’t know why they were cheering so much. It didn’t really make sense to me,” he said.

I had him too, as well as Cliff Lee. In hindsight, that draft turned out pretty well for me.

surprisingly enough it was a 12-team league
Carpenter and Greinke both went late. My hitting struggled a bit, I did have Adrian Gonzalez, Robinson Cano, Chase Utley, and Tulowitzky. OF was pretty ugly, as Sin Soo Chu (sp?) was one of my better performers.

I think the gap between Lincecum and the Cardinals pitchers is closer than the gap between Greinke and the other AL pitchers, at least in the minds of the baseball writers.

Also, LOL Deadspin:
It’s Zack Greinke by a landslide, which means the Internet won’t have the pleasure of yelling at wrongheaded baseball writers until Thursday, when they snub Tim Lincecum.
Funny because it’s probably true.
