Seeing the Giants score half their runs without accompanying RBIs in the last game of the season made me decide to revisit an observation I'd made around ten or so games into the season, and see how the Giants' percentage of non-RBI runs stacked up against the rest of MLB...
I'm not seeing any really strong correlations here... I guess there are mostly good-ish teams at the top, though you run into Cleveland, Cincinnati, and San Diego in the top 10, and the Yankees and Phillies are near the bottom. But the Giants do seem like a pretty clear outlier, for whatever it's worth. Even if you credit back 5 extra RBI from the aforementioned stretch early in the season, the Giants would still lead the majors. So, yeah. Just thought it was interesting.
