Who will be the Juan Uribe of 2010?
This past offseason, the Giants struck pay dirt with the signing of Juan Uribe to a relatively low cost contract. In exchange, Uribe exceeded expectations and was arguably the best acquisition of the offseason (fair due credit to Jeremy Affedlt). With many positions likely up for grabs on the 2010 roster, who would you like to see the Giants sign to a low risk, high incentive styled contract? Who do you think will be the Juan Uribe of 2010?

No thanks.
I know you nerds know NOTHING about the real game of baseball, or any other athletic endeavor requiring teamwork under physical stress.

Considering we don’t even know who’s going to have their option declined or who’s going to be non-tendered, this seems premature.

Not only is it premature. It’s online and speculative as well. That’s right; premature e-speculation!

Juan Uribe will get wet, whenever you're crying.
Last year seems like an upper bound on how good he will be, but maybe he can get back into the same neighborhood.
Please hit better, Randy Winn.

No one. We didn’t have a Juan Uribe in 2008. No guarantee that it will happen again.

Haha if it matters, my name’s been the same long before party boy came out and took my initials. And I wouldn’t mind signing a guy like Nady or Ankiel to increase competition for one of the outfield spots. I see an open ended competition going into spring training for at least one of the corner outfield spots, and I wouldn’t mind bringing on a couple low price, high reward styled players to push the kids. Worst case scenario, they’re Josh Phelps. Best case scenario, they return to 2008 form and contribute.

Nobody wanted Uribe last offseason
If you mention somebody as a hopeful Juan Uribe of 2010, you immediately eliminate him from contention, because that makes him a desirable.

If Infante can hang in center field and at shortstop, I say sign him up. That’s a big “if” though.

Devon Aoki
"The part of the roster where most of the money is spent, though, is on free agents and guys acquired through trade — guys Sabean did play a big role in acquiring. And they are not good. When you get 2/5 of a pitching rotation for free, you would think you could do better with $76 million than to field the league’s worst offense."

I sure didn’t want Uribe last year. I really wanted Beltre. So by definition Uribe is the new Beltre. That makes Beltre the old Uribe. Unless my thinking is unclear, which maybe.
