I just read the other post about the Giants competing with the Dodgers. I’m not really following this postseason anymore. I’m was until the Dodgers lost, but that was the only thing I cared about.
-—————————————————————————————————————————————————————

There’s something wrong if the Giants can’t sign Holliday or Bay. They can not sign Molina, Penny, and F. Sanchez, if having too much salary already is going to be the reason why they don’t sign a slugger. Also, the Giants have to have someone to make Lincecum and Cain decide to sign and stay. Further, after last season it was looking like a buy out of Zito’s contract was something that management should seriously think about and now they don’t have to think about that because he’s pitching a little better.

I’d be happy if the Giants didn’t spend any uncommitted money on anyone else for next season, but signed Holliday or Bay. It would be even better though if they added Bay and Figgins. Or how about: sign Bay, Figgins, buy out Renteria, and sign Scutaro.

I just heard a pretty great story about this.

Fordham, a Jesuit university in the Bronx, was doing a production of Hair that at one point featured a pair of “flower girls” dancing through the aisles tossing handfuls of condoms into the audience. The head honcho of the university said that this qualified as “promoting contraception,” and negotiated a change with the director: if the girls instead scattered the condoms on the ground, it would be up to the audience whether or not to pick some up, and the school thus be in the moral clear.

I thought that was a pretty fair compromise, and so quintessentially and hilariously Jesuit. Naturally, the final performance saw the audience get covered in condom packets.

I’m not even watching the game. I have FSU at UNC football on my TV.

"All I know is right now, you comeback and do you dwell on that? I think you're man enough to take it, you're man enough to chew on it, to spit it out and you learn from it. ... I think winners let it go. I think losers dwell on it and talk about it all week and that screws you up for the next opportunity going forward." - Mike Singletary after the 49ers loss to the Vikings

The way the playoffs may go, Jeter has a chance to be Mr. December.

Oh man, how funny would it be if the Angels ended up winning the series?

I know you nerds know NOTHING about the real game of baseball, or any other athletic endeavor requiring teamwork under physical stress.

It’s the Yankees. Not depressing to me.

Sorry I read “series” as “Series,” as in “World Series.”

I just want to see the expressions on all the Yankee fans faces.

The Giants would have swept the Yankees in the World Series, no problem.

No problem except for the 1 for 23 with RISP.

Swing and a miss. Rowand has struck out.

more like 7 for 8 with RISP.

Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.

Fred Lewis was the guy who failed to drive in that one run.
