Well, I’m happy he got to 20 HR if it was important to him.

I think he means the fans, who only indirectly paid him $16M.

Also

Anyone want to bet Bengie has a Posey voodoo doll at his house that he keeps poking with needles?

Pretty gracious statements about Posey. not sure I totally believe it, but I’ll choose to believe he’s saying that in good faith.

Not a fan of the comments unanimously saying they want Bengie back next year. I know it’s the gracious thing to say, especially if he reads the comments (unlikely, but possible). But I’m highly tempted to go in there with:

“Thanks for being a good catcher, a decent hitter and a clubhouse leader. You’ve been a great Giant and you’ve done everything that could be reasonably asked of you. It’s not your fault that Bruce Bochy is unreasonable and thinks you’re a cleanup hitter rather than an excellent choice to bat 6th or 7th. I wish you the best of luck in the American League next year.”

"he walked 18; new league record! Struck out 18, another new league record! He also hit the sportswriter, the PA announcer, the bull mascot twice..."

Gah. I think it’s unbecoming for a professional ball player to be so publicly butt-hurt. I understand that he has these feelings, but I don’t think sharing them like that helps.

It isn't simply about you vs. Buster, Bengie...

Bengie’s value for us compared to the B-money he’s going to get on the open market just doesn’t balance out. There’s too many hackers under contract already, and we have a decent defensive catcher (Gerber’s popular Strained Salt n Peppa) to couple with Buster. With Timmeh-Cainer-Pablando, our leadership is changing.

Gotta play with the $$$ we got, and firstly, that needs to solve:
1) patient sluggin’ out of our LF
2) improved defense/speed/OBP up the middle
3) general pitching staff depth maintenance

Bengie would have been a better player if he promised his dad 100 walks instead of 20 homers.

No Edgar, it's not your fault, it's the fault of the idiot that plays you

C'mon

He has to do something that he can do. 100 walks is impossible.

And if he promised his dad that he would lose 20 pounds instead of 20 homers….It’s all a matter of perspective…
