On Strasburg
"a sort of righthanded Dave Righetti. No doubt he’ll begin his career as a No. 1 starter, but later on I can see him being a power closer."
So he’s going to become a pitching coach after his career is over?

And pitch a no-hitter.
I know you nerds know NOTHING about the real game of baseball, or any other athletic endeavor requiring teamwork under physical stress.

K-Law opines:
I’ve been asked quite a bit if San Francisco Giants outfielder Thomas Neal’s tremendous season in A-ball made him a serious prospect, but having seen him multiple times now, I’d still like to at least see him perform like that in AA against higher-quality pitching. Neal’s tool set is limited to his bat — he’s a below-average runner and nothing special in an outfield corner — and at the plate he has that same propensity to swing through, over, and around even fringy sliders. He also has a timing issue in his swing, as he rocks back and forth slightly when he should be set and can mistime if the pitch catches him off balance.

yeah, nothing special in an outfield corner can actually be pretty good in comparison with some of the statues that play out there.

no kidding
What I’ve seen of Neal is good arm strength and solid D. That’s better than what’s out there currently.

Hey, he’s got the old Dusty Baker swing!
My Bucardo is better than yours.
A hot August weekday, before a small crowd, when the only thing at stake is the tissue-thin difference between a thing done well and a thing done ill. Insofar as the clutch hitter is not a sportswriter's myth, it is a vulgarity, like a writer who writes only for money.
