New 'Who are you rooting for' Post

The top two finishers in the original thread, the Cards and the Twins, are now gone. These are the times that try Giant's fan's souls, gentlemen (and ladies)

I think at this point I'm stuck on the Angels. I'll root for the Phils to beat they who shall not be named, but I just can't bring myself to root for rectumface and old man charlie to win two in a row. And the Yankees? Even Brian Sabean could put together a good team for 20 bajillion dollars.

Plus the Angels have the whole Adenhart angle, which I'll admit is pretty touching.

What about you guys?

mostly rooting against the Dodgers and Yankees (thrilled that the Red Sox are out). I would be happy to see the Phillies win it again, they have some likable guys (aside from Victorino) and most importantly 2 Bruins.

Honestly, I wasn’t behind the Angels before they beat the Red Sox. But seeing how they beat the Red Sox in Game 3 of the ALDS to advance to the ALCS was just so damn pleasing. After the Rockies lost...

I at least had a team I could tolerate winning it. It was shaping up to be the four teams I absolutely loathe, so at least that didn’t happen. But, ug, Phily!

I don’t want to fathom the Dodgers winning it. Angels would suck, but at least it would make their win in ‘02 seem more legitimate since it would be there second. Okay, I don’t really believe this but I’m trying. Screw them! Oh, and ’02 never happened anyway. My bad! I forgot!

If Phily can’t then as odd as it is I might want the Yankees. I loathe the Yankees more than really any other sports franchise (and its actually close to the Dodgers for me). However, they’ve won it so often that I have NO feeling whatsoever when they do win it. It is almost as though the World Series was cancelled and didn’t exist — sort of like 2002 and 1994. So since I really hate all these teams, I would rather feel nothing at all. So yank it (suggestive pun intended). Especially if it were against the Dodgers, which I am thinking it will be! LAME!
