$5M is pretty hard to believe
Easy to buy, though.

On second thought
It makes some sense, if his plan is to take advantage of next season’s weak FA market. He’d never sign to play in a park that might hurt his numbers, though, so it would exclude the Giants. The only way he’d play here is if the Giants agreed to his pre-Burrell demands.

I agree completely, but playing in a friendly park certainly hasn’t helped him this offseason though. However, this was said by some agent, and since that agent wasn’t Dunn’s, it’s not about to happen. Last I heard, Dunn’s agent was looking for 4 yrs 56 million dollars. I can see him settling for numbers similar to the ones that Pat Burrell got, which was 2 yrs 16 million.

Do we need a voucher or coupon?
I know my Circuit City ones will be useless any minute now.

Senor Sheets
Read something that Ben Sheets is looking for 2yrs/$18M with an option for a third year. Maybe Sabean should pass on the FA hitters and look to sign Sheets. Then with the added pitching depth Sabean could look to trade another pitcher instead of signing a hitter to a big money deal.

If the Giants sign Dunn
I would expect him to wear a shirt to the press conference that says, “MOVE DA FENCES IN!!!!”
Besides, he doesn’t like baseball. =p

An infield of
1B- Dunn
2B- Velez
SS- Renteria
3B- Sandoval
would be nothing short of horrific defensively. However, at that price I would certainly consider signing Dunn. Guys with 5 straight seasons of 40 HRs with a career OPS+ of 130 don’t grow on trees… anymore…

If any team could handle that it's the Giants
Four strikeout pitchers, no groundball pitchers. Why invest in defense you ain’t using?
