This was pretty interesting! In the final round, it was our very own Pablo Sandoval against Detroit's Miguel Cabrera. I believe this home run derby took place in the Venezuelan league!

Awesome find! Thank you!

"While conservatives tell you 'leave things alone and no one will lose,' and liberals tell you 'interfere a lot and no one will lose,' baseball says 'someone will lose.' Not only says it - but insists upon it! ... Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature." BVCE supports SF Dugout and Manny Burriss.

I think he took more pitches in that video than I’ve ever seen from him.

Pablo Pounds

Is it just the video or has our boy benefited a little too much from home cooking? I loved the two shots that left the park completely but his swing sure looked like a flail by the end. The best swings were the first few that didn’t go out. Hope he didn’t pull anything.

Great link. One of the related videos is Andres Galarraga in the same competition. I don’t care how old he is, seeing him laughing and swinging a baseball bat again is a great sight.

our boy has to wear the husky pants, but he sure can hit! I love that you can tell he’s having the time of his life, he must be a fun guy to be around

With Cabrera and Sandoval in a homerun derby everyone is a winner… except the caterers of course.

Let's see here...

The Big Pablo!!
How big!! I … tonight and was a spectacular total!!

But in the end how Pablo’s was spectacular!!

Espectaculo isn’t a cognate word. He said it was a total spectacle. And “but in the end what a performance by Pablo.”

And I think that the gist of the fourth line is that he almost caught a ball hit by Brendan Katin, but it hurt too much. I didn’t get that far in Spanish.

Magallanero seems to be slang for a loser in Venezuelan baseball. Tenia is a tapeworm.

Lol, thanks for the help

“Loser tapeworm”. I’ll remember that for the next time the Dodgers are in town

It’s the choice of the Pablo Generation.

It’s official: I’d rather watch a home run derby in spanish than stomach another home run derby hosted by Chris Berman.
