Ochoa out, Foppert and possibly Crede in
Ochoa chose to be outrighted following being taken off the 40-man roster.
Foppert has agreed to a minor league contract.
"Sources" tell Schulman the Giants are talking to Crede about a one-year deal.

Luk how many catcherz we gotz!
Rafael Rodriguez: Your number 8 organizational prospect before stepping a foot on American soil and has "looked just super so far," according to Felipe Alou...according to Baggs.

Schulman also said in a post at that same link:
Scott Boras is seeking a four-year deal with a vesting option for a fifth year. That is essentially what he got Barry Bonds in 2001
Boras or Borris?
They say some players get out of bed hitting; Pablo Sandoval doesn't wait that long

I think Bonds used to have Boras but switched over to Borris.

It's like he switched specifically to confuse us!
Damn that vile Barry Bonds!
Barry Zito - Mildly half-OK! Sometimes.

Barry Only Used Boras For The Heavy Liftying After His 73 Jacks In 2001
He went to a much cheaper egent (Borris) thereafter.

I know some disagree, but I really don’t want Crede.

I would like to see Ishikawa be given an opportunity to win the 1b job. And as far as Pablito playing 3b in 2009 I cannot remember any comments regarding his fielding at 3b in 2008.

Crede on a one year deal is cant lose
Hes not going to break the bank. When healthy he can be a middle of order hitter and allow Pablo off the hot corner and play first and catcher which I like alot more than third and first and catcher. One of the posts yesterday mentioned Pablo played first almost all winter so i’d love to stick with that. If Crede’s weak back doesnt hold up then Ishi can get his shot and Pablo moves back to third. If Crede has big year and we cant resign him then Jesus and/or Connor both have an extra year of seasoning to try to break in with us next spring.

He’s only a middle of the order hitter if you have a terrible lineup. He’s only had an OPS+ of over 100 once in a full season.

So he would be a middle of the order hitter for the giants right?

Point is, he wouldn’t make the lineup good or anything.

Most Of His Value Is On Defense
He is excellent3B defender even last year when hurt. His power is also a plus on offense when healthy. Think of a healthy Crede as Pedro Feliz with more power and a little more OBP (but not much more) but otherwise the same.

I am aware of this. But to me, Pedro Feliz + A Little Bit of OBP + Constantly Hurt = No.

I think we should just give the guys we have a chance, you never know whow the Carlos Pena or Jorge Cantu will be. If Jesus can turn into a guy that mashes the ball and play a little D then awesome lets give him a chance to at least try. If Crede gets signed then no matter if Jesus outplays him for the third base job, Crede will still having the starting job unless his back does not allow him to play. So in a long winded way, no on Crede.

I’ll miss you El Ocho.
Looks like I need another "lost cause" in Orange & Black to root for.
