Awesome article on Bert Blyleven
A fantastic piece from Rich Lederer. I really don't like Jon Heyman and I'm disappointed to see him play any role on the new MLB Network.

What’s the deal with the new FanShot titles always ending with MCC?

The world would be a smarter place if Jon Heyman were dead.

I’m not good enough at math to really be a stathead, I saw Blyleven pitch in the latter half of his career, and I thought he was a Hall of Famer when he was playing.

I’m not sure how old exactly Jon Heyman is, but I can see from a quick google search that he graduated college the same year as me, so I’m going to guess he’s about my age. Speaking for myself, I was 8 years old when Bert Blyleven entered the major leagues. I was alive, certainly, and retain some vague memories of him and his famous curveball from the first say, decade of his career, though I imagine I never saw him even on TV prior to the ’79 Series of maybe a game of the week sometime during the ’79 season.
I’m just trying to imagine how large an act or arrogance and how small an act of intelligence it would take for me to say “I saw his whole career.”

I see Heyman is overdue for his next swirly.
Seriously if going by gut reactions and impressions Blyleven was twice the pitcher Jenkins was and 3-4 times the pitcher Sutton was in my book. He just did not spend as much time in large media markets as the other two. And probably refused to comp Heyman a steak dinner or something. Glad to see some one take the mental gimp to task.
