Burriss could be finished in '08
Bad news accompanied the Giants' 6-2 win tonight, Tim Lincecum's 16th win.
Manager Bruce Bochy said rookie Emmanuel Burriss injured his left oblique muscle and could be done for the year. These tricky side-muscle injuries almost always take more than three weeks to heal.
Asked if this might be season-ending, Bochy said, "Sure, he's questionable for the year right now."
Burriss appeared to hurt himself while grounding into a double play in the fifth inning.

Man what is it with Obloquies and this team. Perhaps one of the trainer should look into modifying the training regimen this off season?

I thought 2007 was the mystical year of the oblique. Too bad we can’t see Burriss for the rest of the year, but let’s face it, it’s a good time of the year to get injured. Now: can I have me some Travis Denker, please?

Yes, Denker, please. Being stuck with Ochoa, Velez, and Vizquel in the middle of the infield for the rest of the year would be painful.
What man? Which man? Who’s the man? When’s a man a man? What makes a man a man? Am I a man? Yes. Technically I am. - FotC
