Posey to go to San Jose for playoffs
from Schulman's notes on sfgate:
"Briefly: Talk about fast-tracking a guy. First-round draft pick Buster Posey will be promoted to Class A San Jose for the California League playoffs this weekend. It will be his third team in a week. He hit .385 in 26 at-bats in the Arizona Rookie League, then went 3-for-11 with two RBIs after his promotion to Salem-Keizer, Ore., in the rookie-level Northwest League. Fans can see Posey and San Jose play at 6 p.m. Saturday at Municipal Stadium."
This should be interesting.

It's just the playoffs. Not too surprising really.

I, too, have high hopes for Dollhouse. Strangely, I couldn’t get into Buffy. But Firefly was a well-cast masterpiece. Nathan Fillion absolutely WAS his character, and his dialogue was underplayed genius. You absolutely must run to the store and get the DVD’s. I’d send you mine, but they’re not allowed to leave the house. : )

Oh, I was just being rhetorical
I have the Firefly DVD box set, too. Nathan’s a great actor. You want to see something interesting, watch the episodes from the final Buffy season with Nathan playing the demented, violently misogynistic Preacher, The character’s completely the inverse of his Firefly character, and yet his line readings and general swagger are quite similar — just a slightly different spin that makes them chilling and revolting rather than fun and heroic. He’s an old friend of Joss, so I guess he just understands how to sling that lingo. He’s also a featured player in Dr. Horrible which is only available from ITunes and is well worth the four bucks.

Posey looked overmatched early...
but did get a hit in the 8th with 2 on/nobody out as part of the SJG’s 4-run rally.
Wasn’t exactly a frozen rope—he swung late and sent one the other way; if the Stockton 1B hadn’t been playing toward the line it’s an out and maybe a DP.
We sat near the family of one of the “regular” catchers who got deactivated for the playoffs when Posey got called up. Felt kind of bad for them and him, but that’s the breaks.
