OT: Housing Search
Hey Folks,
Figured since we're officially done with the 2008 Giants season, people wouldn't mind an OT post. Feel free to delete this if its a nuisance.
Basically, I'm in the market for a 1 bdr apartment in the City, but I'm willing to expand to certain parts of Oakland/Berkley as well. Anyone know of anything, or have any good tips to finding a good place to live? I know of craigslist and all the standards, but thought I'd check on the off chance any of you knew any specifics. Budget is around $1200.
Thanks everyone.

Furnished apartments in the Greek baseball porn building for $1200? Did someone die in unit?

You’d be lucky to find a decent place out my way in crap-ass Antioch for that much.

Greatest wo years of my life
I had two “totally hot” roommates after college. It was heaven. With all their friends hanging out all the time, I felt like Hef at the Playboy Mansion.
I’ll need to see if I can dig up a picture of me with them.

Yeah, FWIW
I just moved out of a 1brdm apt in the City. I was paying 1500, and the landlord promptly raised it to 1750 for the next tenant.
It wasn’t especially nice, either. Subdivided old home on Portrero Hill.

I don't think $1,200 is going to get it done
I pay $1,350 (plus $75 a month for parking) for a one bedroom place in the Inner Richmond that isn’t exactly going to be featured in Better Homes and Gardens. This place was definitely on the more reasonable end of the price spectrum when I was looking for places at the beginning of last year.

It’s different living with your mom, and living in your mom’s basement. Totally different set of circumstances.

Living with grandma
Not so grate when grandma has the mentality of an eight year old. :/
