When exactly should we hear about who wins the Cy?
I can't wait for May to come around - then I won't be teased for being a Giants fan anymore. I swear these Virginians don't know what they're talking about.
Couldn't think of a better way to end it
1. Beat the Dodgers
2. Timmy Wins
3. Better than last year, officially.

It’s nice to know that no matter how bad the season is going, I have this site and all of you gameday commenters to keep me entertained. So, what I’m trying to say is: Thank you

they finished by beating the Dodgers 4 of 6. Check previous three years when we went strictly into the dumpster against this team when nothing was at stake.

But no more Amy G.
You guys made this shitty season fun. Thanks for joining in all the insanity and inanity.

Hey
At least we found out who can play this year. Sandoval was a pleasant surprise. Nate looks like he can stick. Romo is freaking amazing.
At least it wasn’t useless like ’07.

Thanks Pete, for all you did for the team. You gave us the good Barry and a pretty new ballpark.

Back from the game!
We had some misadventures on the way home – the 2-year old fell asleep on Muni, and then woke up on BART at West Oakland, just after a group of Raiders fans got on the train – he melted down and had a fit, leading to some of the Raiders fans to be asses – an amazing thing from Raiders fans, I know. But the game itself was great. Lincecum was un-fucking-real, especially early in the game. Which was great it was the first time I’ve seen him pitch in person.
Highlights:
- SANDOVAL! The Giants have a lot of shitty hitters who swing at everything – finally, we have a GOOD hitter who does the same.
- Frandsen getting his one at-bat of the year.
- Vizquel ending his Giants career with a hit – and possibly the same for Aurilia.
- The tribute to Magowan after the game. Say what you will – he kept the team where it should be, and he got the best ballpark in the game built.
- In the inning where they had a kid introduce the first 3 Giants hitters, the kid kept saying, “Now battling…” She also had quite a time with Velez’s name.
- When we got off Muni at the ballpark, there were some Dodgers fans in front of us. I noticed one of them was wearing a Brad Penny jersey, and I pointed and laughed uproariously. Another of the group shouted, “Last place!” at me. Again, I laughed at him: “Um, that’s San Diego, genius!”

Just got back as well
Maybe it was just me, but the park seemed louder than usual, perhaps because it was Timmy Day with nothing to lose or maybe because I hadn’t yet been to a game in the Post-Pablo era. There was actually excitement about this team.
I shared many of the same highlights (except the train experience of course, though I agree about Raiders fans being asses). Each time the kid said “now battling,” I kept thinking, “They sure don’t seem to be doing that right now.” For a bit, it was looking like Timmy was going to get Cained. Thankfully, things turned around once Cy Kuroda was taken out.
Highlights for me:
1. Lincecum (obviously)
2. Loud ovations for Omar, Frandsen, Magowan, and the whole team postgame
3. Everyone sticking around after the game
4. Fans heckling the Dodgers bus when it was about to leave the park
The Bad:
1. Rowand (Thankfully, we get a break from his own unique brand of “All Out” gameyness).
2. The fact that I will wake up tomorrow and realize there’s no Giants baseball for 5 months.
Overall, it was a great game that left me looking forward to next year.
Oh, and Amy’s G’s rack: much hotter in person.

Agreed it was a great game for Timmy
Although my adventures home were rather uneventful, thankfully except for the parking ticket, apparently I was half an hour early in parking there. No big.
Let the balloting begin, I have my champagne at the ready.
Thanks all for turning this dismal looking season into an entertaining diversion. Here’s to a great 2009.

Oh, and also, the low-light of the game for me
Was the guy sitting next to us. He seemed nice enough, but he and his kid showed up the bottom of the third inning and left at the end of the seventh. LAME. Have some pride, dude – if you’re going to be acting like that, you might as well just give up and become a Dodger fan!

I WAS THERE
Great way to end the season. Omar got some big ovations when he exited the game, including a curtain call. I didn’t realize that it’d be the last time we’d see Omar play for the Giants until today (hopefully), so I gave him some hearty applause and cheers. Of course, Lincecum also got plenty of cheers.
Everything in the Dugout store was 50% off, and it was pandemonium inside. I was able to make it out of there with a Cain t-shirt, although I wanted a cap too. Oh well.
Was There Too
We even caught some of Michael and Pecan’s Lincecum Look-Alike Contest. Pecan is a short fellow. Tim’s dad picked the winner. It was fun to see GOD who sent his Son to us as our Savior.
The Bear Will Not Quit, The Bear Will Not Die.

Just getting back to Sac...
We were there too.
Great game.
Omar’s ovation, Rohlinger’s leap and Molina’s almost homer were the highlights.
We were sitting very close to where Dawg and Pierre almost hit gloves.
We were disappointed that we didn’t get to boo Kent or heckle Manny.
They were handing out tentative schedules for next season…so I’ll see at the yard on June 17, July 8 & 29, and August 12th …at the very least.
Thanks for a fun season – and – Go Cubs!
