Open Gameday Thread, 9/28
Los Angeles Dodgers @ San Francisco Giants
If Lincecum pitches 25 scoreless innings today, his ERA will be a full run below Brandon Webb's. Bochy has a goal! All the Giants will have to do is not score for 25 innings.
As long as Lincecum hasn't given up a run, I'd put his pitch limit at 1,520. He doesn't even ice his arm, so he's good for it.

Note that I wrote this thread, but Josh from Hollywood’s name is on it because he was apparently dicking around with the new features of the site when it switched over. Oh yeah, Josh, just screw around with the last game of the season. No one will ever find out.

That gives me an idea..
Try and decipher the code I will post next season by taking over specific gameday threads.

Josh has already cost us this game. Lincecum will not pitch well today and Brad Penny will win the CYA.
Josh, you will spend an eternity listening to Anne Murray recordings while bathing Tom Lasorda’s genitals.

29 Ks would be better. Also, a 5-strike out inning.

If the Giants lose this game, they’ll have the exact same record in 2008 as in 2007. Which is actually better than I expected, so hey!
As I’ve mentioned, I’ll be in attendance. My only regret is missing the last gameday thread. Don’t have too much fun without me.

CC Sabathia
True gamer. Pitching his third start on only three days rest. This with him about to enter FA and being able to take care of his family.

True gamer, or the Brewers knowing they won’t sign him this offseason, so they might as well say fuck all to his long-term health? You decide.

Milwaukee Brewers general manager Doug Melvin knows what is at stake for CC Sabathia this offseason, when the pitcher will be the highest-profile free agent on the market. So when the conversation came up about Sabathia pitching on three days’ rest — over and over and over — Melvin wanted to talk directly to the left-hander. “I told him I wouldn’t [approve] it unless I looked him in the eye and heard it from him,” Melvin said.
He mentioned to Sabathia how much criticism former Brewers manager Ned Yost had gotten from the national media earlier this season when he allowed Sabathia to throw 130 pitches in a game. If Sabathia were to pitch on three days’ rest one more time, Melvin said, the Brewers might be criticized again. But if Sabathia understood that and was OK with that, Melvin would be on board.
Sabathia’s response, according to pitching coach Mike Maddux: “I’m all in. Whatever it takes.”

The memories of my family outings are still a source of strength to me. I remember we’d all pile into the car – I forget what kind it was – and drive and drive. I’m not sure where we’d go, but I think there were some trees there. The smell of something was strong in the air as we played whatever sport we played. I remember a bigger, older guy we called “Dad.” We’d eat some stuff, or not, and then I think we went home. I guess some things never leave you.

Well, when I was a kid my favorite relative was Uncle Caveman. After school we’d all go play in his cave, and every once in a while he would eat one of us. It wasn’t until later that I found out that Uncle Caveman was a bear.
