San Jose still home to the Little Giants
I'm sure this is hardly a surprise to anyone, but at least it's official now.
The San Jose Giants are proud to announce that they have renewed their Player Development Agreement with the San Francisco Giants for two more years (2009-2010). The team has been affiliated with the San Francisco Giants since 1988, which is the longest current working agreement in the California League.
An impressive 25 former San Jose Giants have played in San Francisco this season. Currently 19 former SJ Giants are on the active San Francisco Roster including: IF John Bowker, IF Emmanuel Burriss, P Matt Cain, P Geno Espineli, P Alex Hinshaw, C Steve Holm, IF Travis Ishikawa, OF Fred Lewis, P Tim Lincecum, P Osiris Matos, IF Ryan Rohlinger, P Sergio Romo, P Billy Sadler, P Jonathan Sanchez, C/IF Pablo Sandoval, OF Nate Schierholtz, P Jack Taschner, P Tyler Walker and P Brian Wilson. A total of 128 former San Jose Giants have played in the Major Leagues.
This leaves just Double-A and Short-A unaccounted for (I may have missed S-K's renewal). Carolina remains a likely home for the Giants in the future, and word is we'll get the call later this week.

I don't think..
There’s any other place the Giants want their A+ team than in San Jose. It’s an hour drive to and from the park instead of a 5 hour drive to and from Fresno. Simple rehab/scout park.

Now get them in there through 2012 and we’re in business!

The hell with all that. 2012 is the year I’m supposed to graduate from college. I need the Giants to stay in SJ for the duration of my college career, so you see.

Cool. I think it’s an advantage to have fairly neutral environments for the young players. San Jose is a pitchers park, but that’s balanced out by the rest of the league favoring hitters.

It's also...
…a great place to watch a game, and has maybe the best food of any park in baseball. Turkey Mike’s BBQ at $5 should be considered robbery.

+1
Turkey Mike’s is om nom nom. My BFF’s wife had her birthday party at the game and the party package rocks socks. Each person gets a ton of food, plus two drinks, and cake. And it’s really affordable.

Sounds like Smart Natto to me
None of us trust you with confetti since the infamous Parade Incident of Aught Six.

Hey, it’s not my fault you left your confetti out in the open in that multi-lock safe guarded by 12 dogs and a bear in a remote location in Arizona.

Yippee!
I do like taking in games at the SJ park. It’s a good way to make an impromptu trip to a ballgame with the kids – just a 15 minute drive from home. And the food is definitely yum yum at a reasonable cost. Plus the silliness on the field between innings is kinda fun.

Bumgarner, Posey…maybe more Alderson..maybe a little AnVil….Maybe Gillaspie? Add in all the ballpark amenities previously mentioned, and I think it may be the best ticket in the minors next year.

Noonan and friends too
Also expecting pieces of that very good bullpen in Augusta: Trey Webb and Mitch Lively, who was quite a surprise in a limited role.

Yes
Possibly Daryl Maday as well, since he sort of got bombed in CT following a callup.

Oh, absolutely
I was just listing other relievers that impressed me. Now that Sergio has graduated to the big leagues, I may have to adopt Daryl Maday to replace Romo.

Indeed
The little Giants will continue to be solid with these guys moving up for 2009. What really messed the Giants up this year the bullpen. It was shockingly bad.

Noonan
Baggs had a note in BA recently that the organization thinks so highly of Noonan they may send him to AA to start ‘09 (similar to his insider comments on Bumgarner). I hope that’s not the case, personally, but given the promotions we saw in ‘08, it’s obviously not out of the question.

Alderson?
I would think there is zero chance of Alderson repeating in SJ given his success there. Last I heard, they were considering skipping MadBum a level and sending both of them to AA. Have you heard otherwise?
