why doesn't lewis have his surgery now?
The giants could have lewis take the year off early to repair his bunion to let nate schierholtz and jon bowker get some extra ABs in September. This would make sense to me. Lewis has been struggling a little lately and i want the giants organization to see if schierholtz can be an everyday player. Side note: what is up with everyone being down on schierholtz' power. He seems like a 20 HR kind of guy.

I wonder the same thing. Maybe they hope he’ll be able to recover over the offseason without missing time? I really have no idea.
The other possibility is, they’re going with the “best shot at winning meaningless games now” strategy.

Depends on the degree of the bunion. Minor cases just involve orthopedics and good old fashioned rest. Major cases involve the surgery that everyone has been talking about around here.

I would hope
That the team has been consulting with a physician and that this is the course they have advised.
None of us is really in a position to second guess this.

somebody email this question in to K&K for their “live” question and answer session – next Tuesday’s game wasn’t it?
