you approve my disapproval?

Is this simply due to a belief that we have a fundamental right to protest or do you agree that Timmy’s face should not be altered in such an undignifying way?

So far it’s run almost everything I’ve seen faster than FF. Not gonna switch til it’s out of beta though. There’s still some quirks with forms and a few CSS issues.

by fwoty oz on Sep 2, 2008 4:47 PM PDT up reply actions

I just did

I was actually going to make a post about it. I’m in Chrome right now, actually.

by positiveuphemism on Sep 2, 2008 4:34 PM PDT up reply actions

The first thing I noticed is more screen space

As opposed to FF and IE, i think, Chrome has no bottom bar or whatever it is called. Both FF and IE have a bar at the bottom that creates a frame, Chrome doesn’t have it. Also the toolbar(s) at the top take up less space that FF.

it did a nice job importing my stuff from FF. It has tabbed browsing…I prefer FFs way but this may be changable. Chromes tabs are above the taskbar.

by positiveuphemism on Sep 2, 2008 4:37 PM PDT up reply actions

and the task manager is really nice

It should be helpful to be able to monitor each tabs memory/cpu usage.

by positiveuphemism on Sep 2, 2008 4:39 PM PDT up reply actions

bleh

and here is something yucky. In FF to open a new tab you just hit ctrl+t. Here you have to click on a little plus sign at the top…unless there is a shortcut. If there is no ctrl+t i’ll just use FF.

by positiveuphemism on Sep 2, 2008 4:41 PM PDT up reply actions

Ctrl+T works for me in chrome. Try again?

Weird...now it is working

I wonder why it wasn’t before. So strange. IT’S A BUG!!!!

by positiveuphemism on Sep 2, 2008 4:47 PM PDT up reply actions

Oh wait...

Ctrl + t works…it’s double clicking on the tab bar that doesn’t create a new tab any more. It changes the window from max > a smaller window.

by positiveuphemism on Sep 2, 2008 4:58 PM PDT up reply actions

It’s probably because the tab bar is the same as the title bar, which usually resizes whenever it’s double clicked in any application.

this makes sense

by positiveuphemism on Sep 2, 2008 5:02 PM PDT up reply actions

I believe you’re referring to the Status Bar. I like having tabs on the edge of the border, but I wish I could move the tab bar to wherever I want it. I prefer having my tabs on the bottom of the screen.

I read the Chronicles a lot (long-time lurker) and you always make me laugh, so I figured he probably wasn’t kosher over here. Just figured I’d check… yeah, he needs to take a long walk off the proverbial short pier.

This is Pathetic

Livan’s last 16 starts – May 22 through Aug 22
8.10 R/9 IP
16.11 H+BB/9 IP

Livan’s last start, against us, plus this start
2.00 R/9 IP
6.00 H+BB/9 IP

PATHETIC!

Whatever scouting book they have on him (“well, we know all about this guy, these were his weaknesses when he was with us …”) is apparently way out of date.

by SnowLeopard on Sep 2, 2008 6:20 PM PDT reply actions

You just know that in his next start after this one, he’s going to give up like 10 runs in 3 innings.

Well, which is stronger

Livan pitching fail or Giants hitting fail?

I still put my money on Livan.

The worst pitchers in the league regularly eat the Giants for dinner.

A few weeks ago, where was one pitcher – I’m drawing a blank on whom – gave up like 11 runs in one start….then shutout the Giants…then 11 more runs in his next start.

Err.... sorry about that, guys

On the bright side, you are facing Livan “Eats the Buffet + The Table” Hernandez…

For what it’s worth, Purple Row was completely up in arms about Bochy leaving Tiny Tim out for 132 pitches last time you faced us, since we figured he was going to get broken. And tonight we’ve also mentioned that we don’t want to see him used that far again. And we still wish our FO was bright enough to draft him instead of Greg Reynolds, but it didn’t happen.
