its just a response to the whole Bochy hatred in general. its probably somewhat warranted just a bit overblown, had Velez simply made the catch no one would have questioned Bochy’s decision making for that game. I know Velez doesnt have much outfield experience, but just about anyone in the majors should be able to make that play, I’m not taking him off the hook for that game.

I think they were the kind of hits that have to be scored as such. They weren’t touched, just badly misjudged. Plays like that are supposed to be scored as hits. Blame goes to Velez and Rowand, not the official scorekeeper.

These last two nights are the type of thing that the BBWAA and ESPN will point to as being the reason why Webb should win the Cy Young and not Lincecum. They can just point to a couple games where Webb “stepped up” and Lincecum supposedly did not, as justification for their vote. They do this type of garbage every year. “Well, (insert candidate name here) just won the MVP with this clutch HR in this key game tonight!!”
Just basing the whole vote on two games saves them the trouble of having to pay attention to the rest of the season, or, heaven forbid, actually look at some statistics.
I know I’m probably in the minority here, or maybe even alone, but this is why I don’t really care all that much if Timmy wins the Cy Young or not. I know he’s the best pitcher in the league. The league’s hitters know, too. So does Webb and so does Timmy.

Molina gave Bochy the perfect opportunity to remove Tim when he hit the homerun. His pitch count was getting up there and he could have left with a no decision instead of a loss. Maybe he figured he could get him to 20 wins if he left him in there. Timmy pitched well tonight, but this was his least dominating outing in quite some time. Everyone but Bochy seemed to grasp that it was because of the pitch count in his previous outing.

There’s no such thing as stepping up against the Giants. Webb had two chances to “step up” against the Dodgers and he was routed both times. When the Dbacks needed him to stay in first place he let them down. No way what happened in this series affects anything.

Nobody who works at ESPN has any idea the guy even exists, and the voters will just shoo him off because of his team’s performance, which is fucking bullshit. Being 17-4 on this team is an unbelievable accomplishment, not to mention the fact that he leads/ is in the top 5 in the league in stats with actual importance to winning games.

He won’t fire Bochy. If Neukom wants to rebuild next year, it makes no sense to pay off the manager when they’re not going to win anyway. And if he decides to go the other way and attempt to contend, he’ll probably bring in a couple of veterans and then he will think Bochy is a good manager for that type of team.

Here’s something odd we noticed , and I’d like to know if it’s a leaguewide phenomenon or just my overactive imagination – although it happened too many times to be a passing embolism. Vic Jr. noticed it too.
Just after the inane crowd motivational signals started up (“PUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER!” “MAKE SOME NOISE!”) , sure enough noise began – but it wasn’t a natural crowd sound – no , from up near the upper deck above the pressboxes came this canned crowd noise. Kind of like surf breaking on a beach. Then the crowd sort of caught up to it…
