Open Gameday Thread, 9/12
San Francisco Giants @ San Diego Padres
Is Peavy really 9-10? Wow. That's unlucky like a 2007 Matt Cain. And by "unlucky", I mean that Peavy just doesn't know how to win. He doesn't make the pitches when he needs to. He isn't clutch. He isn't a winner. He can't taste it, you know?
For shame, Jake Peavy. For shame. You need to attend classes at Gamer U.

Just realized we're about at the point where I am in my BM league...
Jonathan sanchez is 6-9 with a 3.96 ERA for me in 27 starts. 155K to 147.2IP. Nearly the same but mine has more strikeouts.

Hanley Ramirez and Matt LaPorta just hit B2B Homers. :-)

I’m pretty sure Moneyball said OBP is more important than SLG; therefore, anyone whose OBP is higher than his SLG must be good.

Barry Zito has more wins than Jake Peavy
In order to help out our friends in San Diego, I offer this trade straight up: Zito for Peavy.
Think of all the benefits:
1. Zito is more of a winner.
2. Zito is signed to a longer term deal, so that’s more winning.
3. Zito will only get better the more he surfs, and there’s lots of surfing in San Diego, so that’s even more winning.
4. Some people might be discouraged by Zito’s ERA and performance and level of talent this year, but when he rebounds in San Diego (due to his winnerness) you’ll all look like geniuses!
5. Whatever starlet he begins bedding will no doubt show up to Padres games. That’s publicity for you, and that means money!
In conclusion, I can’t believe I, representing the Giants (apparently), would even consider this deal. Better jump on it soon, Padres!
Trent Kline: Decentish. Also, my website is called ChatterBalks Dot Com. It's not being updated right now. Hope for more at your own risk.
by groug on Sep 12, 2008 6:05 PM PDT 0 recs
Also, Zito has as many wins as Peavy this year, so he’s obviously just as good.

My wife claims that the A’s sideline reporter is hotter than the Giant’s sideline reporter because the A’s players are more attractive than the Giants.
