I don’t know why the Dbacks thought it’d be a good idea to play Dunn in RF, but I thank them for it.
wasn’t that bad, as the deek seemed intentional. I think Dunn thought it was going to go off the wall, and was deeking on that. He just happend to be wrong about it doing so, but hard to blame him for that, as it was close to it. Not a good play. but not THAT bad.
Adoptive Parent of Francisco Peguero. He can throw, he can run, he can hit(fastballs), and he's Dominican. What else do you need to know?
LF, RF – no real difference there
by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Sep 10, 2008 1:54 PM PDT up reply actions
A left-fielder has fewer chances to make put-outs. That’s why poorer defenders, even ones with decent arms, are put there.
P.S. The perfect example of this is Manny Ramirez; who has a superior arm, but has fewer chances to screw up in LF.
What I mean is that Dunn is equally bad in both fields, but does RF really get more chances than LF?

by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Sep 10, 2008 2:04 PM PDT up reply actions
my counter-counter intuition says...
That because you are counting “playable” FOs – generally not LD or grounders (typically hits) it could be true.
If you look at the past few years in AL, NL, typically the league Range Factors in RF are slightly higher than LF (but not always) and this includes assists.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION OF RYAN ROHLINGER? HE IS A LOCAL PRODUCT OF PLAYING BASEBALL FROM HIS DAYS ON THE “DIAMONDS.”
I AM UNCERTAIN AS TO THE POSSIBILITY OF RYAN STILL BELONGING TO THE MAJOR SQUAD.
HAS HE PERHAPS BEEN WAIVERED?
I WILL ENDEAVOR TO VERIFY ALL LEADS. I DO NOT DISCLOSE SOURCES.

I daresay groud is the most popular poster on this site.
