Bochy from the Baseball Show

Our fearless leader was just on the Baseball Show on XM with Darren Sutton and basically echoed the same spew that has been coming out of the Giants for the past couple seasons.

"Timmy is a top 5 pitcher in all of baseball and we hope our current situation doesn't stop people from noticing."

"We were pleasantly surprised in how fast Sandoval has caught on."  "Has a chance to good for a number of seasons."  "Going to be a test to see how he reacts when pitchers see him a second and third time." "Definatly a future catcher/1B and 3B is just to get him AB's."

"Real proud of his vets for having a good attitude every day and all the hard work they put in helping all the youngsters."

"Feels Burriss and Rohlinger are going to be valuable long term players."  "Rohlinger is one of the smartest ball players he has been around and could play any position in a pinch." "Rohlinger is working hard with coaches and current Batting Average has nothing to do with not playing." "Burriss isn't just about speed but speed doesn't hurt."  "Burriss has been working all over the IF."

"Doesn't think the team will rush prospects." "September callups can help the team but thinks it will be pretty difficult to promise playing time when they are already having enough trouble finding guys AB's."

did Bochy mention who the September callups are?? Why is everything such a secret with these guys?? By the way, I really believe that Roehlinger not playing isn’t related to his .100 batting average. If he had come up hitting like Sandoval had, you think he might have played more??

Rohlinger could use some time in the weight room

he looks like Rowland’s 15 year old kid brother out there.

I have no idea. He didn’t specify either. I to wonder who is coming.

He doesn’t think the team will rush prospects? I guess he’s been managing a different team all season.

I took it as he won’t rush anymore prospects as they are already really young. The way he talked about Sandoval, Burriss, and Rohlinger makes me think they think higher of them then we on this site do.

Gee that never happens. The organization valuing players that we think should just go a-way?

by Merope on Sep 1, 2008 10:20 AM PDT up reply actions

Yeah I don’t know how to explain it. He (the organization) definatly have a hard on for Rohlinger. Bochy talked about him like the little kid who is going to get his college degree when he is 13 years old in some crap we never heard of.

well, if that’s Ryan Roehlinger in that picture above, I have a hard one for him too

errr, hard on, not hard one. Either way, the more I think about it, the wronger it sounds. Forget I wrote it.

Why would we want Burriss and Sandoval to go away?

because we don’t want them to see our hard ones for Roehlinger.
