Roster Move: Sadler, Yabu up. Matos, Romo down
http://blogs.mercurynews.com/extrabaggs/2008/08/06/roster-moves-bullpen-shuffle/
from Baggarlys blog
RH Keiichi Yabu is activated from the DL and RH Billy Sadler is recalled from AAA. RH Sergio Romo and RH Osiris Matis are optioned out, presumably back to AAA. Sadler had been lights-out at Fresno.
Sadlers cut his walks since being sent down and Yabu is Yabu, i guess. I think thats 75 word s. YABU DABU DOOOOOOOOO !

WTF why did they send Romo down? I know he struggled last night, but before that, he had a low 2 ERA and he still has a WHIP below 1. Dumb.

Answer to your question
Giants FO has no idea what they’re doing.
Casual observer: Brian, this “throw everything against the wall and see what sticks” idea is not working very well.
Brian Sabean: We need stickier walls! Cover them in flypaper!

because we are still contenders. Yabu and Sadler give us the best chance to win. Duh.

How it can be a joke when it’s so horribly unfunny.
Trent Kline: Decentish. Also, my website is called ChatterBalks Dot Com and on it I make jokes about things.

Very good question, one implosion doesn’t justify this. Other have imploded more often and left a much bigger mess.

I knew it was over for VR when Scott Weiland went back to STP.
In Baggarly’s blog he mentioned something about Lewis having a red light saber. Sith Mayor sounds like a pretty badass title…

this is a youth movement?
matos and romo had what, 24 ip between them? one bad outing and its back to the farm you go? what message does this send? and i really hope the out of options part is incorrect

This is retarded
What is the point of calling up a 39 year old at this pt? What possible reason is there to keep Yabu around instead of giving the young guys innings?
Jonathan Sanchez. He's left-handed, like Barry Zito. His fastball breaks 80, unlike Zito.
by Aadik on Aug 6, 2008 3:25 PM PDT 0 recs
i don't think we necessarily need to "give the young guys innings"
I have no problem with Yabu coming up as a mop-up guy. Hell, he could probably even spot-start for you.

This
Ever since Yabu went down, the team has been lacking a guy who could just eat up some innings if/when the starter gets knocked out early. That’s where a guy like Yabu comes in handy.

And since he was pitching pretty well
I don’t mind it. I liked Yabu. Except for when he couldn’t get anyone out for those couple of outings.

Why can't anybody ever regress to the nice, for a change?
That would be refreshing.

I actually don't have that much of a problem with this
At least Sadler is a co-young guy. Romo and Matos will be back up. As long as they get innings, regardless of where they come from, I’m okay with it. Next year, however, they better be up for good.

Sadler
Billy Sadler has lights out stuff, I certainly didn’t see that from Romo and Matos in their short time here. Sadler projects as a future setup man or even closer, while the other two look strictly middle relief to me. Maybe Romo will do better than that, but not Matos. Sadler belongs here over them. I would have kept Romo over Yabu because old men make no sense for this team, but I’m used to this team making the wrong move.

Yes but without Yabu there is no yabulog.

It's kinda funny
that we’re all upset because a couple of young middle relievers got sent down for one older innings eater and one young reliever with much better stuff. Take it easy, they’ll both be back in less than a month.
