I vote we move Winn to 3B
He played there during that crazy game against the Dbacks so lets do it again. That would allow us to move Bowker to RF where he belongs, get TI into the lineup at 1B and get Castillo out of the lineup entirely… I do not see a problem with this idea at all

...winn plays a great RF though.
If my head is full of white hairs by the end of this season.. I blame Brian Wilson. (I'm only 22, dammit!)

Frandsen took BP today
50-50 chance he returns this season, bochy says
what's the rush?
i mean, it’s one thing if he’s completely recovered. then it would make sense for him to get a few ABs. but there is absolutely no reason to rush him in this season.
No one needs to see a Triumphant Return Gone Horribly Wrong. Frandsen should come back only if he and Groeschner are sure.

found this little tidbit
waiting for 2011....
i don’t see it. sabean’s going to want something in return, not just salary relief. otherwise he would’ve been traded already.
So who plays third when Castillo starts at second?
Trent Kline: Decentish. Also, my website is called ChatterBalks Dot Com and on it I make jokes about things.
Bowker
since clearly he doesn’t get the same short leash on defense that velez got…
we may as well check him out everywhere just for shits and giggles.

SCIERholtz lol!

This
will be my first Giants game in over 2 weeks.
Too bad Cain’s pitching. IDK if you all know this, but he sucks pretty bad. Like terribly.
man, don't remind us
hurts me to think about it

In other baseball news
Joba Chamberlain just gave up a three run homer to Michael Young. How do you say “suck it” in Huttese?
Watching the pre-game. . .
Props to Amy G. for her catching and batting skills. She looked decent during the balldude thing.
It's my blarg! Quick Pitch
Who's the better 3-hitter
Freddy or Mark freakin Kotsay
Bill Mueller? I expect at least A-Rod type numbers from my son, Conor Gillaspie
well
it only took them all season to try lewis in 3-spot, hard to say…

I’m not so sure he could in ATT. Maybe in cinci or philly.

The Bruce Bochy Show
Specializing in baseball cliches and generally boring and unenlightening conversation since 2007.
With all the talk today about SF organization 2b prospects it is good to see Nooner hitting a HR and stealing a base today.
Signature wilriv sarcasm.

another 9 innings would make it 112 right?

I believe we’re at 102, so another 9 would make it 111. But I suck at math, so don’t take my word for it.
I couldn't remember if we were at 102 or 103

So, we don’t have to worry about tonight’s game. We just got dinner in Jack London Square with friends of my wife before they took the ferry to the ballpark. Their 4-year old son, Anthony, promised me he’d tell the Giants to win, and that if they weren’t doing well, he’d go in and play catcher. So it’s all taken care of.
phew!

Yay high socks!
Uh, I mean those high socks are really ugly. >:(

no matter how ugly it looks, i support any ballplayer who decides to go with the short pants and the high socks.

From the garbled syntax department:
The ESPN Game Preview for tonight includes this gem of clarity:
Any chance of making the playoffs seemed to evaporate last week for the Atlanta Braves. That’s a couple weeks longer than the San Francisco Giants’ postseason aspirations appear to have dissolved.
So…umm…our aspirations dissolve longer? That’s good, right?
The All-Father is now a Giant!
hm, why am I not surprised it was Shane Victorino with the more or less helmet to helmet contact on McCann?
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
My grandmother watching the game saw the replay on that and called Victorino a complete dickhead.

My wife’s grandmother didn’t swear (in English, at least), but one time we were at a dim sum restaurant, and she was displeased with the mooshu pork, so she said, VERY LOUDLY and repeatedly in Mandarin, “They have deceived us!” Good times!
lol best. I can’t wait to get old, myself. At least then my bursts of profanity and misanthropy can be excused with “oh she’s just a crazy old lady.”

I remember him getting away with making his own base path.
Was that during Timmy’s debut?
by rightcenterfielder on Aug 4, 2008 7:24 PM PDT up reply actions
He was the dipshit who got picked off, was in a rundown, and ran directly OUT of the basepaths to run into Omar Vizquel, standing on the outfield grass, to get a defensive interferance call. The dumbass umpires said he was “setting his own baseline.”
Hennessey has gotten all the bad pitching luck again tonight. Fresno down 3-0 before they even bat. Ishikawa is facing a LHP so he is batting 6th tonight
Homage to Jim Beauchamp
