Question about cameras at AT&T
I'm toying with the idea of going to Wednesday afternoon's game to see Lincecum pitch, but since I got my DSLR I haven't tried using it there. I'm only a few BART stops from the Coliseum which makes it a little easier to cope with being told "You can't bring that in here" but fortunately the A's seem to have a pretty loose policy on using SLR cameras there. Basically, don't block anyone and no commercial use. That's cool.
I checked the Giants website and they basically say the same thing, but has anyone here ever used an SLR there or seen other fans using them? Is it something that's cracked down on or are they lenient?
Thanks in advance.
(Note: I'm not looking at bringing in one of those huge lenses they use down on the field. Definitely a lot smaller than that)

try the bike valet
i think they might let you check it in for $5. a friend of mine forgot to take a pocket knife out of his jacket before a game and was told to take it to the bike valet over by McCovey Cove. (For $5, I think he ended up just chucking the knife, though.)

I have seen other fans with them plenty of times. I myself only have a smaller digital camera and I haven’t had any problems in hundreds of games

I have a first gen dRebel. I have taken it in many times with extra lenses (15mm, 50mm, 17-55mm) and never had any problem. The last game I was at, I saw someone with what looked to be about a 200-300 tele. I’d say Your OK.

I've got a tele that goes up to 300mm so that's good to know, but it's not huge. Thanks.

Never had any problems
I’ve taken my DSLR (Canon EOS-10D) many times, always with my 75-300 lens. It’s not a huge lens, but it’s pretty big. Never any problems.

The only cameras that are banned are video cams that would reveal Zito's errant mechanics.

So, normal video cameras?

In a word, yes. Also cigar box cameras, tracing paper, and sketch artists.
