I liked the pretty colors.

..so allow me to present Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain as two sweet, sweet bottles of warming hooch.

Yeah sort of. He makes fun of stuff and there’s funny pictures. One strip had Brandon Webb holding up a Spiderman shirt. GET IT? LOL Though for some reason in the same strip Johan Santana was Batman…

The cartoonist is a big MLB fan and tackles various current things going on in MLB like underperformers, top players at the All-star break, etc. At the end of the year, he does summaries for each team featuring best and worst players and random interesting players. He also does random series based on a player or a team. For instance, he did a four-parter based on Bobby and Barry Bonds. He has some pretty good knowledge of some of the more obscure facts about various players. He used to always draw Bernie Williams holding a guitar. Also they’re silly, so they’re always a big hit.

These are amazing

So far my favorite is the Wakefield one. I have no idea what’s going on, but they’re still hilarious.

The great thing is if you follow enough MLB, you can get what’s going on.

There’s one he did for last year’s NLDS and NLCS about a black wolf offering a plate of something to a crane. On the building is some hangul that I can’t read. One of my friends who knows Korean translated it as Lo-kee, and we determined that the wolf was the Rockies and the rest of the NL was the crane, and the stuff on a plate were sweet rice balls. Like the wolf was disarming the crane before dismantling it, like the Rockies did to the NL in the playoffs. It’s part of some Korean legend about a wolf and crane and rice balls.

I love that Ben Sheets is playing DDR in that one.

I Think Grant’s link to that was what convinced me that this was the Giants site for me.

Translation !

I saw that cartoon before Olympic baseball game started. But that’s not a big deal… It’s a kind of scouting report about Team USA and Nate Schierholtz was ranked 8th. To me, it was one of the worst cartoon by Choi. Cartoon means on the description is below:

He was born in 1984 and now playing for Fresno (Giants’ AAA). He is an excellent contact-hitter with power and plus-plus arm. In the pre-season, he was ranked 4th in Giants’ farm and still he is.

He is a good hitter as well. But Korean pitchers don’t have to chase him because he’s a type of guy who ‘HITTER MUST SWING WHATEVER IT TAKES’.

Lately he seems to be making more of these informational comics with a whole lotta text with fewer drawings. I guess to us it isn’t anything special, but for those who don’t follow prospects like us, it’s more interesting.

Thanks!

Haha, ’Hitter must swing whatever it takes". Sounds like a true Giant in the Feliz and Molina mold!

Adopted Giant: Travis Denker. Good?

Hopefully more in the Molina mold.

Bengie Molina career line: .276 / .309 / .412
Pedro Feliz career line: .253 / .290 / .432

I’d rather he be better than either of them.

Trent Kline: Decentish. Also, my website is called ChatterBalks Dot Com and on it I make jokes about things.

by groug on Aug 28, 2008 10:21 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Is this updated from this season?

Lets see if I’m doing this right… .309 + .412 = .721
                                                           .290 + .432 = .722
So Feliz has the better OPS?
or is there some mistake here

Less arm, more talk. Raisingcain is a GAMER.
Adopted Giant: Henry Sosa

Yup. But one point of OPS is pretty meaningless. Molina is probably the better hitter of the two, but really, they both suck.

phew!

thanks for the translation! I’ve been enjoying the strips, irrespective of the language. Guy does great stuff.
