What a killer game … we came in at the 5th, and for once we caught the best part. Thank God Thyler never got on the mound. Timmy, Bengie, Pablo, Wilson… great game-ender by Omar… truly epic.

I wonder if Bochy would have still made that stupid double switch if he knew Velez would continually get the ball hit to him.

Guys tend to not give a doodily frig if girls like sports.
I have proof of this. Tonight in journalism class we had to introduce ourselves, and come up with a number to associate with each of us, as an icebreaker exercise. I introduced myself, said I was in sports media, and I picked 11 for Carl Hubbell. Several men in the class expressed they were also interested in sports media. Not one of them talked to me in class, after class, nada. Not even just to say “wow that’s cool got any contacts?” Nothing.
I’m not sure if it’s because I look like a trainwreck or what, but it illustrates my point. Though I’m not sure their opinions are the best anyway because none of them knew who Carl Hubbell was.

But if they were all nerds who claimed to know sports, wouldn’t they know who Carl Hubbell is?

Yeah, one would think.
FWIW, I attended an info session for the Sports MBA program at San Diego State last spring, and NONE of the people that I spoke to who were my group resembled anything close to sports fans. There were about 20 of us (~17 females).
Generally speaking, they embraced the capital market that sports has created, but were not passionate about actual competition at all.

I dunno. I’m still a fan of the game. I still get excited about a guy going 4 for 4 against a tough pitcher or a guy throwing a brilliant start. I don’t really understand how someone could get involved in sports anything and not get caught up in the excitement of the sport.

During the commercials
I got sucked into this mini-documentary on Animal Planet about the Michael Vick case. I managed to flip back to the game before commercials had ended most of the time, but I got hooked right at the end of the documentary when they were talking about the sentence that that jackass got. So, I flipped back to the game, and all of a sudden, the Giants were winning, 2-1. I’m so pissed I missed those homers. How often does one get to see back to back homeruns with the GIANTS???
Oh well, at least I got to see Timmy’s performance…

you can catch it at the website if you’re willing to sit through a Joe Torre Dodger commercial. It’s worth it, because Kuiper’s homerun calls are awesome. It’s almost like he hasn’t had that much chance to use them this year and he knew there won’t be many more the rest of the way.
