To brighten the mood

One of the funniest moments of my life just occured.

I am, for some reason, watching the SD/AZ game and Heath Bell almost hits Mark Reynolds in the head. Mark Grace goes, “Whoah” and the proceeds to sing “Low” in a alarmingly cheerful vocie.
“He hit the flo, next thing you know, shady got low low low….”

Awkward silence ensued.

WTFBBQ?

pretty much agree.

Saw some were Boulder Skull does not want to have 6 man rotation the rest of the way. But I fail to see what good sticking with a 5 man would do.

I heard different, that Bochy was considering going to a 6 man rotation for September, but it was radio, so it could have been more speculation

by timmeh on Aug 26, 2008 9:49 PM PDT up reply actions

To me that makes more sense. Just bring up like 8 pitchers from Fresno & the Defenders and designate 1-2 starts at all staff nights.

It not there is anything Tim or Cain can prove with the type of games left this season. Sanchez probably should near the end of his innings for the season. So cycle through the other guys can see if something glimmers.

So, thanks again. Let me know if you guys venture down to SD.

Our walk was diverted by about 7 or 8 huge raccoons blocking our way. Used to see them all the time in Albany, but this is my first encounter with the fuckers in Oakland.

When I was a kid the deer would come onto our lawn and eat some berries that would make them drunk, then they’d pass out on the grass. If our little tiny dog would dare try to keep them from their berries, they’d kick her in the nose. Surly bastards.

I was walking to the bus stop one morning not too long ago and I came face to face with a coyote. He looked at me and just kept on his way. I don’t know about you, but that sorta freaked me out.

Yeah, I certainly never saw any coyotes in the couple of years I lived with my grandmother in Orinda. I did see a buffalo once! A tame one, mind you. Being ridden by Margaret Lescher’s much younger cowboy boyfriend before she died. Now that’s a good anecdote.

this sounds promising.

Ivan Ochoa - Heir to the legacy of Rob Andrews & Rikkert Faneyte!

by daveinexile on Aug 26, 2008 10:18 PM PDT up reply actions

Margaret Lescher was the widow of Dean Lescher, who published the Contra Costa Times. They built a mansion in Orinda which was a few blocks away from my grandmother’s old house. After Dean Lescher died, Margaret Lescher had a relationship with a much younger cowboy-type who was one of America’s few professional buffalo trainers.

The anecdote is basically just that I was walking home one day and saw him riding his buffalo in the front yard.

Not long after, Margaret Leschner died in mysterious circumstances – she drowned in a lake while on vacation in Arizona. She was drunk and only wearing her underwear.

Fun!
