Open Gameday Thread: Revenge
Matt Palmer looks pretty good so far. Other than the hits, walks, and number of pitches thrown.

To the stat cave, nerds!
Opposing pitchers OBP is .282 against the Giants, highest in the NL. 4 American League pitching staffs are above us (lower opposing pitchers OBP). I found this by the split of #9 hitters against team staffs. There’s the occasional pitcher hitting 8tjh, but not many.

Well, I think it describes Ochoa a lot more than others
Ochoa walks 3.9% of the time. That is astronomically low.
Given, he’s only had 85 PA’s, but that isnt an impossibly small sample.
The guy just doesn’t walk, and can’t hit – as such he makes a pretty lousy #2 hitter.
Id rather even see velez in the 2 hole as at least he can hit a little.

During the 1992 expansion, I remember reading an article about potential team names for the new times (another possibility for the Rockies was the Denver Bulls!) that said something like, “after naming their basketball team the Heat, perhaps they should call the baseball team the Humidity.”
