Zito, Amy G, and Prospects

1.  Zito pitched well in atlanta they have been know to take a risk on big contracts if the other team pays a.k.a mike hampton for the rockies... i know im blowin smoke but just a thought.

2.   Has any1 else gotten sick and tired of amy G for GARBAGE. "Her best question to every player is how did the weather affect you tonight?" they all shoot her the wat the hell you talkin bout look. She sucks!

3. What are we doing with our prospects. We have sandoval he is amazing but where to play him! you got posey at catcher so 1b right? WRONG you have isikawia, and bowker. 3b is villilona. I say you get crazy and go for next year with this

C. Molina

1b. Sandoval or Isikawia

2b. Burris or Frandsen

SS. IDK maybe get crazy and put posey the guy can play anywhere but he is a damn good catcher so idk. Bosey prolly wont be ready so this is a question mark

3b. Villilona if not next year put Sandoval maybe cuz he plays C,1b, 3b

OF Lewis Nate and Rowand

The simple answer

Zito no, Amy no, and prospects yes.

Question

Could Frandsen play 3B?

by slcgiant on Aug 21, 2008 7:45 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

He could. I’m not sure if he’d do it well. But he could do it.

what about Nate?

by tyrannoman on Aug 21, 2008 7:57 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Defensively, he’d probably do quite well. It’s just that his bat is probably more suited for 2B.

by rotorueter on Aug 21, 2008 8:22 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Interesting

I know this team would suck next year but I’d love to see Molina ©, Ishikawa (1B), Burriss (2B), Frandsen (3B), Ochoa or (SS), Lewis (LF), Rowand (CF), Schierholtz (RF).

by slcgiant on Aug 21, 2008 9:37 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I meant Sandoval and not Molina

Molina and Winn get traded for whatever value you can get. Let the rebuilding continue with an eye towards substantial improvement by 2011.

by slcgiant on Aug 21, 2008 9:38 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

That seems to be the consensus..

Among us. He played 3B in college and his bat was more of a 2B so he was moved.

If Sandoval can actually play 3B, it changes everything. Julio Lugo has negative trade value, we could likely get him for very little other than salary relief.

At that point, you have a lineup of:

Lewis-LF
Winn-RF
Ishikawa-1B
Sandoval-3B
Rowand-CF
Molina-C
Lugo-SS
Frandsen-2B

Now, that lineup requires a LOT of things to go our way, but this is probably the first potential light at the end of the tunnel that we’ve seen in years. The first time our best-case scenario actually results in potential contention.

I find Amy G. kind of innocuous. In fact, she annoys me a lot less than some of the other folks who’ve held the on-field reporter job.

by Dan from NM on Aug 20, 2008 10:43 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Compared to Cammie

She’s about 1000000000000000x better. Nice to look at. But she’s still terrible and her voice is annoying.

by Hobbes2d on Aug 20, 2008 10:49 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Compared to Cammy, Amy is a gift from the God’s themselves. The thing about Amy G is that after I have the beer goggles on she isn’t that bad. I’m not saying shes good, but there is a possibility ya know? With Cammie, no amount of alcohol or illicit drugs could make that woman look halfway decent.

by Nellieball on Aug 20, 2008 10:57 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I’ve seen Amy in person, she really is not that bad. And that’s without beer goggles.

she’s cute enough (especially with the glasses) but she’s so awful at her job I cringe when she’s on the screen. Interviews are actually painful.

by tyrannoman on Aug 21, 2008 8:46 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

She really is awful…makes me wonder how she even got the job. Its like they were going for an Erin Andrews-style reporter but decided to hire someone who knew little-to-nothing about baseball. Definitely unprofessional to give really bad interviews while reading off your little notepad after every two words you say. Hope she gets canned after this season

by m34josh on Aug 21, 2008 11:45 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I hope so, too. She subtracts so much from the game to me.

by tyrannoman on Aug 21, 2008 1:15 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I should probably clarify: I don’t have a problem with Amy G., but I’m not a fan of the whole sideline-reporter concept in general. I’d rather just watch the game.

by Dan from NM on Aug 21, 2008 10:59 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

agreed

She’s a pretty bat reporter, but she looks fine (agree with the glasses part).

One night, I turned on the tv to look for the giants game. I was on vacation, and we didn’t get the channel the game was on the night before, so I wasn’t sure if we would be able to see it that night. When the tv turned on, it showed some woman holding a microphone. I actually thought something like, There’s some other team’s hot sideline reporter, way hotter than Amy. Then I realized it actually was her. First time I saw her wear glasses. Different hair too, I think.

it just really pisses me off

that they feel it’s appropriate to cut away from a full side of an inning to show her friggin interviews like even she gives a flying fuck what she has to say. I watch the game uuuuusually to see the Giants play some, and not so much to see Amy G interview random people.

I can....

Up the ante 100 and give you Chrissy Russo of the Padres’ pregame, all-over-the-place reporter who as is pretty as she is dumb. She lends her Starbucks hyper-activity, mixes it with not so good reporting skills and tops it off with an occasional twist of uncomfortable interviewing decorum that screams of a producer trying to get to the next person in the room/area. There used to be a time when people like Dave Campbell and Rick Monday came through San Diego and you got real baseball talk. Now it’s crap chatter with a large heaping of ego and what used to be Jerry Coleman.

Thank the deity that I can watch real games, with real announcers…even though some games might suck hard.
