i’m not too disappointed in this lineup. would rather see flew in the 2-hole with pablo hitting sixth and ochoa seventh, but it’s definitely something.

by cornball on Aug 20, 2008 6:25 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I actually don’t have serious complaints about this lineup. I mean, Ochoa as a #2 hitter is kind of sad, but there aren’t a lot of options there, and Molina was off yesterday, so I can’t complain about him playing all the damn time. So, yeah.

by jcb9 on Aug 20, 2008 6:26 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Molina was off yesterday?

So- The SD/AZ game has gone perfectly so far

1. SD is winning
2. Peavy – 1 IP, 3 ER
3. Haren – 1 IP, 4 ER

53-72

Adopted Giant: Daryl Maday - Just got promoted to CT, and is now sporting a gleaming 8.35 ERA.

AUGH

I have both those pitchers on my fantasy team. At least Liriano didn’t give up any runs. Hopefully Cain will come through for me as well.

by jcb9 on Aug 20, 2008 7:13 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Fantasy BB

do you play multiple pitchers each day? I don’t get how this thing works.

by bondslegend on Aug 20, 2008 7:14 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

in a regular, run of the mill league, you have several spots for pitchers – by default, 2 SP slots, 2 RP slots, and 3 generic P slots, where you can put in relievers or starters. Any pitchers who are in those slots on a given day count – a pitcher in a bench spot doesn’t. That way you don’t get screwed if four of your starting pitchers are all throwing on the same day.

by jcb9 on Aug 20, 2008 7:15 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Ahhh I see

thanks for that. I just got into fantasy last year, but only football. BB seems like too much work

by bondslegend on Aug 20, 2008 7:16 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

It can be as much work or as little as you want it to be, really. I’m a micromanager, but you don’t really have to be.

Semi-OT: Omar

I was watching the the Angels/Rays game earlier and the announcers mentioned that the Angels were in the market for a solid defensive SS. Then, much to my surprise, they mentioned Omar as their primary candidate. I’m sure there is no actual validity to this but it was at least worth a laugh so I thought I would share.

Giants! Giants! HELP US GOD!

yeah.. Maicer was their starting SS for a while, and yet they have one of the best records in the league.

If they traded Vizquel and received a bag or rocks it would still be about $800K savings which then can be converted to lower beer prices at the park
