I suppose I could have just waited for somebody else to pick up on the finish instead of artificially pushing for one, though.

What’s truly frightening is that we’re not the worst. The Nationals have scored 8 fewer runs – in two more games.

And they didn’t sign their first-round pick. Anytime I get really depressed about the Giants, I just think to myself, it could be worse: I could be a Nationals fan.

by jcb9 on Aug 18, 2008 12:44 PM PDT up reply actions

This is true to a point. Except the Nats have a history of futility, dating back to Expos days (except for that one, glorious strike shortened season long ago). The Giants are supposed to have resources and a rich history of excellence to draw on. And this is the product they put on the field. Expectations are higher (even if modestly so this year), so the sting of suckitude is greater.

I meant the Bobby Jones game. At least the Agbanyani game had that one great moment to get excited about. The Bobby Jones game was just grim. Like the siege of Stalingrad, if the Nazis had all worn Mets gear. Which according to some historians they did, but it hasn’t been conclusively proven one way or another.

Also I was sitting in the very last seat of the next-to-last row in the top tier in right field. I was nearly grazed by jets several times.
