For an East Coast game, I mean.
Not that I’m complaining, this means I can watch the game (and hopefully Pablo!) when I get home.
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
It’s dumb as hell, considering that the Giants have to fly back to the West Coast after the game and they have a game tomorrow.

All I hope for these days
in non-Matt and Tim starts, is that the kids do well. Don’t care if Zito picks up another L (in fact, I’m kinda hoping he reaches 20) - that just helps secure good draft position.

Man, I always thought you were one of the smarter posters on McC too.

Finding reasons to complain
Yay for Ishikawa and Sandoval in the same lineup! But why is Roberts starting over Winn!?
Well, we really like what D-Rob does for us at the top of the lineup, getting things started, putting pressure on the pitcher, and also Winny’s a little dinged up, we figure he could use a day to sit in the dugout and chew sunflower seeds and shoot the shit with the coaches, specially Wotus, that guy’s been driving me crazy the whole road trip, and furthermore yakkity yak yak

I’m familiar with the meme… normally, though (whenever I’m around to see it, anyway), I’m the one who makes up a wacky episode scenario to close the deal. But since I was the one getting hit with it this time, it didn’t seem right for me to explain a made up episode to myself.

What’s truly frightening is that we’re not the worst. The Nationals have scored 8 fewer runs – in two more games.
And they didn’t sign their first-round pick. Anytime I get really depressed about the Giants, I just think to myself, it could be worse: I could be a Nationals fan.
This is true to a point. Except the Nats have a history of futility, dating back to Expos days (except for that one, glorious strike shortened season long ago). The Giants are supposed to have resources and a rich history of excellence to draw on. And this is the product they put on the field. Expectations are higher (even if modestly so this year), so the sting of suckitude is greater.

I was watching on tv from New Jersey, but I still remember Snow coming up, seeing the Giants down 3 runs, and thinking, “Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if Snow hit one out here?” about five seconds before he did, and then jumping up and down like a fool.
Fuck Benny Agbayani. Fuck him right in the ear.
I meant the Bobby Jones game. At least the Agbanyani game had that one great moment to get excited about. The Bobby Jones game was just grim. Like the siege of Stalingrad, if the Nazis had all worn Mets gear. Which according to some historians they did, but it hasn’t been conclusively proven one way or another.
Also I was sitting in the very last seat of the next-to-last row in the top tier in right field. I was nearly grazed by jets several times.
