Sanchez scratched

SFGate is reporting Jonathan "Dirty" Sanchez has been scratched from his start tonight with a sore shoulder; Palmer will take his place. Baggs is also reporting on this, and says that there is no word on whether Sanchez will go on the DL.

Palmer was a college teammate of A's reliever Brad Ziegler. He has pitched in the Venezualan leagues and was just called up from Fresno.

Palmer? I hardly knew her!  (Hardy har har har.)

I know Rohlinger has struggled but there is no reason to sit him vs. a lefty. If he is going to be up here then these are the times he should play if he is going to be eased in. I don’t get it.

1.001 OPS in 122 ABs vs. lefties this year in the minors.

Robert Palmer? And the dancing girls?

"While conservatives tell you 'leave things alone and no one will lose,' and liberals tell you 'interfere a lot and no one will lose,' baseball says 'someone will lose.' Not only says it - but insists upon it! ... Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature." BVCE supports SF Dugout and Manny Burriss.

J. Sanchez

…but the good news is we brought up Matt Palmer, a .500 pitcher in the minors with a mid 4’s ERA….giving up 6 runs in 2 innings may seem like a bad debut, but by using Zito’s contract as a comp, he still may get a 35 million dollar contract

Scratching a Durty Sanchez could cause a serious infection.

Fred Lewis can stand under my umbrella.

I was just going to say “I didn’t even know he was itchy,” but I’ll give you the point. However, you lose that point for failing to point out that it would also be seriously messy.

My Dave Righetti is better than your Dave Righetti.

Sanchez

should be shut down for 2008. The last time he was over 120 innings for the season was 2005 in the Sally league. He has done well, and there is no need to blow out his arm.
