C'mon sign this guy already. I am going to start breaking my furniture down and arraigning it into easily burnable piles.
I am Cameron Wood and this is my son and business partner CW Culberson.
I'm a Giant Fan

or has NBC really butchered coverage of the Olympics on the west coast?
by positiveuphemism on Aug 15, 2008 7:14 PM PDT reply actions
Live on East Coast
Delayed on the West.
Which is idiotic because it runs all night. Phelps just won but it’s not on TV for another three hours. EVERYTHING will be known already when it is broadcast.
To make matters worse, the cool stuff, you know…that people actually want to see…is not being broadcast over the net at all, even though pretty much everything else is, live. It’s just a travesty of broadcasting.
So, in short, if you are on the West Coast, you can’t watch things live unless they don’t matter, then you can watch them on the net.

OMGZ YEZ U SUXORZ
no, actually just saying that nbc is like totally pushing the fact that they’re covering the olympics so thoroughly, when actually it’s one huge epic failure.
I wonder how many people on the West Coast have become non-spectators because of this?
by positiveuphemism on Aug 15, 2008 7:22 PM PDT up reply actions
I've basically boycotted the Olympics because of it
NBC doesn’t give a fuck about me, I dont give a fuck about them
I’m actually not watching that much of it for that very reason.
And I’m fucking sick and tired of all the other NBC-type channels showing lameass boxing all day, if they bother showing Olympic coverage at all.
Where’s all the promised coverage??
Idjits.
It's my blarg! Quick Pitch

tests = 2 innings per side, up to 5 days, draws possible
ODI = One Day Internationals, limited overs with an adjustment system so the side that bats second gets fair ups.
20-overs = each side gets (approximately) 120 pitches.

Oh, ok. All my knowledge comes from some New Zealanders I know. I was only familiar with test, it appears.
They also use in cricket an infrared camera to see it a batsman was hit on his pads to determine LBW (Leg Before Wicket). If he’s hit, it leaves a heat signature.
That might or might not work in seeing if a ball hit the bat or a HBP occurred, but usually we can just hear it in the first instance, or in the latter the batter lays in the dirt, clutches his balls and howls like a gut-shot coyote. Good times.

and more to the point, outs are so very much more important in cricket than baseball. losing a top batsman in one of the two innings to a disputed call can gut a side’s chances.

To be fair, I believe Abner Doubleday’s dying words were “If it ever becomes possible to review the home run on a screen after the play has already occurred due to enormous advances in technology, I am wholeheartedly against it. It would ruin the spirit of the game.”
Trent Kline: Decentish. Also, my website is called ChatterBalks Dot Com and on it I make jokes about things.
Lastest from Baggs
The Giants still had not announced the signing of decorated Florida State catcher Buster Posey, the fifth overall choice — likely because his bonus was expected to come close to tripling the recommended slot value of roughly $2.5 million, and teams are discouraged from making such deals official until the final minutes.
But Florida State coaches said that they fully expected Posey to sign.
$7 mill???!!!
Posey’s so lucky he’s dealing with see-no-leverage, feel-no-leverage Sabean

I'll get plenty done

Juan Carlos Perez
The Giants 13th rounder Perez plays CF, has speed and power – this kid intrigues me and he just might be a sleeper
I had no idea who he was until Baggs mentioned him on his blog with this quote
Hmmm…A Dominican slugger who was drafted after putting up big numbers for a small, Midwestern junior college…I can’t think of anyone who matches that description, can you?
Yea… not happening, but even the thought of us finding a possible Pujols makes me giddy.
Posey
Just a half hour before the deadline. MLB.com’s Jonathan Mayo is hearing conflicting reports about whether Giants top pick Buster Posey has signed a $6.75MM big league deal.
