Bill Mueller? I expect at least A-Rod type numbers from my son, Conor Gillaspie

I wonder if that means he’ll make Lincecum’s next start? Last I saw, Palmer was having a decent year in AAA.

Also, sucks for Geno but I’m sure he enjoyed the pro-rated MLB pay and the experience. He should be back, eventually, even if I’m not high on his chances, you gotta love a man in stirrups.

I would like to think that Tim’s starts are going to be on strict pitch counts from here on out. I’m too lazy to look it up, but I believe he’s already above his previous max innings pitched by a at least 20% or at least close to it. If the Giants are smart, they should be shutting him down soon, so I can see Palmer having a spot start here and there

Sorry about the Olympics, Geno! Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

"n the last homestand, I asked Brian Sabean who would be the next arm the Giants would recall if in need of a starter or long man. "Whoever’s the flavor of the month," he said.

This doesn’t make any sense to me at all.

I’m with you. They brought Espineli up, he misses the Olympics, they don’t use him past the second day of the baseball tournament, and then they call up Palmer? They need to find a spot on the 40 man for Palmer too. Not too difficult with Merkin and Lowry (or Bocock even), as they can go on the 60 day DL.
This is really stupid.
"While conservatives tell you 'leave things alone and no one will lose,' and liberals tell you 'interfere a lot and no one will lose,' baseball says 'someone will lose.' Not only says it - but insists upon it! ... Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature." BVCE supports SF Dugout and Manny Burriss.

Interesting note:
If you really enjoy keeping track of 40-man vacancies, I can anticipate your next question. Yes, the Giants are one over. A corresponding move will be made before the game, though I don’t expect it to be anything significant.
I wonder who gets bumped from the 40-man? My guess is one of the catchers, GRod or Eliezer.

I wonder whether Espinelli would have preferred the chance to play in the Olympics over the few weeks’ pro-rated MLB salary.
Well, he can always join his fellow Giants prospects in a class-action lawsuit against the team for mental cruelty.
