Rookies slated to start in finale against Astros
Newly promoted Pablo Sandoval, Travis Ishikawa and Ryan Rohlinger are expected to start today's 11:05 a.m. PT series finale vs. the Astros in Houston.
Manager Bruce Bochy said that he expects to start all three rookies who were called up Wednesday -- third baseman Ryan Rohlinger, catcher Pablo Sandoval and first baseman Travis Ishikawa.
Regular catcher Bengie Molina plans to give Sandoval as much advice as possible about working with Kevin Correia, Thursday's starting pitcher for the Giants.
"I'm here for him," Molina said of Sandoval. "I'm going to sit him down and tell him what Correia likes to do on certain counts."
I don't know what you guys are complaining about -- this 75-word thing is easy!

I like Bengie. He takes his protege seriously.

Yes, but which counts does he like to do this????
That’s the important thing to know for a young catcher.

Ok
so the young guys are playing…great. Roberts is in LF, though. Bochey just can’t ever do anything right.

What gets me is Willie Randolph was fired because the Mets just tanked, but did he actually make any completely idiotic decisions they way Bochy rountinely does? What the fuck does it take to get this guy fired, seriously?

Wasn’t one of those a double play ball, though?
Also, WAY TO GO, BOCHY! Even with Sandoval, Ishikawa, and Rohlinger starting, you’ve managed a MASSIVE FAIL at lineup construction. Ugh.

The gamewinning hit in San Diego was a smoked double, and the walkoff hit against the Dodgers was due to Dodger idiocy.

Who in the heck is doing graphic design for the Connecticut Defenders website?
A post on Sandoval and Rohlinger was teased with this graphic:
It looks like something I would have made in MSPaint 8 years ago.

They probably splurged on the graphics budget and went with Microsoft Word. That way, they could do that fancy WordArt the kids are into these days.

So random, but this reminds me of the time I went to a game in Norwich, saw such future superstars as Greg Bruso, Alejandro Freire, and Carlos Valderrama, and between innings, was, uh, entertained by this:
