Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

I'm surprised, he said. I played well for this team.

I’ll assume that’s a quote from Castillo.

Trent Kline: Decentish. Also, my website is called ChatterBalks Dot Com and on it I make jokes about things.

I consider myself a Castillo defender…not because he was my favorite player, or I thought he was a good player or anything, but I just though that most of this team was a pile of shit, and I felt that the level of hatred for Castillo was out of whack…but…if he honestly thinks he played well for the Giants…then he’s insane.

well the key emphasis was on "for this team"

when reporters followed up with “would you consider that you had played well for a good team?” Jose freely admitted “oh no for a good team I’d be crap.”

Get the hell out the way Bengie, Pablito's hit the show!

Without The Pride And Self Confidence Castillo's Words Express

no athlete can suceed. Jose has to believe that his bad numbers were just the result of a slump the Giants did not have the patience to let him work his way out of. Jose believes he is the player that put up the numbers he put up in April, May, and the first half of June. He would have zero chance at sucess if he baught the evaluation of his performance that you all seem to want him to buy.

Personally, I don’t want any players on my team that think about themselves the way you all seem to think Castillo should.

I get that

I do. I just find it funny that this guy, he of the sub-mendoza line after the break, thinks he did well.
I don’t expect him to say “I suck” but I also find this quote funny nonetheless.
With that said, I was never a huge Castilo hater, but I sure as hell was ready to move on based on his second half performance.

Someone get Damon Minor's agent on the phone stat!

I think that thinking you’re a good player who is capable of playing better and actually thinking that you played well are two different things.

I would be shocked if Castillo didn’t honestly believe he could do better. But that’s not what he’s saying. He’s saying that he thinks that what he DID do was good. And that’s a little crazy.

My Dave Righetti is better than your Dave Righetti.

"Jose believes he is the player that put up the numbers he put up in April, May, and the first half of June."

Hmmm.

April: .229 / .288 / .385
May: .293 / .343 / .511
June: .273 / .321 / .384

So basically, he believes he’s a player who’s not horrible 1/3 of the time? Great.

I am not going to kick Joe Castle while he is down. He did nothing to me to deseve that.

I get Rainmans point as well.

This is a pattern for Joe Castle though. He gets less then a starters playing time and he has a reputation of being surly and hard to deal with. It started in Pitt, he said some things in Fla. that lead them to think he would be a problem as a part time player. On the whole it saddens me. I had vaguely hoped he out not spout off crap and get his chance to play on good teams or hang around organized ball. This stuff just hurts him in the end.

This qoute is the new "I did my Job"

I mean I always feel bad for guys like him who are DFA’d and whatnot because they are human beings, but come on man. Really? You are surprised?

A river in Egypt, Jose?

remove all the punctuation...

and you get,
“I’m surprised he said I played well for this team…”

that’s more like it.
