to be exact, you want 109 strikeouts

Bochy will throw him in as a pinch runner, late in the game, lefty on the mound.

by rightcenterfielder on Jul 8, 2008 3:17 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

So

Since Omar indicated a willingness to sit on the bench while Burriss got some starts, Big Head has started Vizquel pretty much every game.

Following this cause-and-effect, this means that if I were to tell Bruce Bochy I’d be willing to do the team’s laundry after every game, theyd probably give me the majority ownership share.

The only thing I really don’t like about ESPN is Bill Simmons. The beginning of every issue is like an update on the Boston sports scene or a rave about how great Boston teams are/were.

no luck in sac...

I’ve been to all the book stores, grocery stores and drug stores in our little corner of the world and haven’t been able to find it.

by Merope on Jul 8, 2008 4:05 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Why is Aurilia still hitting 7th? He’s been hot lately, take advantage Bochy. Ugh. Lincecum should bat 8th also, Vizquel is terrible. La Russa would have done this already.

by Hobbes2d on Jul 8, 2008 3:18 PM PDT   0 recs

OT: Hey Pablito hit another HR today. 2-3 2b HR.

I realize he has only been in Conn. for a few weeks but is a call up to AAA in order if he tears the AA a new ass like he did the Cal?

These are the 2008 Giants. Guys who’ve been in AA for a couple hours get called up to San Francisco later that day.

Denker, Velez, Holm and Bowker all pretty much skipped AAA

2008 Giants: Scrappy! Scrappy! Joy! Joy!

by Goofus on Jul 8, 2008 3:42 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

AAA, I don’t really care about. Nobody with any talent stays in AAA very long.

Skipping guys without much AA experience is more worrysome (Romo, Burriss, Bocock).

you can't block the Bocock

by oldjacket on Jul 8, 2008 3:49 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

If he does it over 60+ games like in SJ, maybe.

Today’s performance brings him up to a .793 OPS in 14 AA games. That’s good but not overwhelming.

The All-Father is now a Giant!

OT

A’s just traded Harden and Gaudin for Gallagher, Murton, Patterson, and catching prospect Josh Donaldson.

If the Cubs had traded all of that for Harden alone, this might be dumb, but to get Gaudin as well——I don’t hate this trade for either team.

by FairweatherFan on Jul 8, 2008 3:54 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I kinda agree

Gallagher will fit in with the A’s collection of 3rd starters.

Matt Murton = healthier Travis Buck.

Patterson I don’t like at all. The catching prospect, I don’t know anything about. If he’s a stud, then maybe this is the best you can’t get for a volatile commodity like Harden.
