Griffey didn’t end up making the team?
To be honest… good.
The only name on there that seems pretty bad to me is Miguel Tejada.

I mean the NL starting outfield isn’t great but I’m not going to jump out a window over it.

Rowand, Wright, Hart, Burrell, and Carlos Lee on the final vote
Vote everybody!

No way he beats Wright. Name recognition…

But voting for everybody won’t help anyone.

Lets piss Mets fans off and vote Rowand in
by CB30 on Jul 6, 2008 12:03 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Its a popularity vote so why not
I thought you could only vote 25 times, but it kept letting me vote so I kept going. My fingers are sore so I’m resting, I guess there is no limit on this voting list.

Except Rowand isn’t deserving at all. I voted for Hart.
by Hobbes2d on Jul 6, 2008 1:00 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
You think Varitek is in there because he's deserving?
Or Jeter, for that matter. Or any number of others. Screw that. It’s a popularity contest, and we might as well get behind our guy. I wish the voting were done in a manner that I could take more seriously, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to root for the homeboys.

I’m not for popularity contests. Which is why I didn’t vote for nor am happy about Jeter or Varitek being there. Or Fukudome either.

So who had Cristian Guzman making the All-Star team before the year started?
No one? Yeah, me too.

I was actually keeping my fingers crossed that Cristian Guzman would make the team this year. The first foul ball I ever caught was hit by him (in 2002) and I have been pulling for him to succeed ever since. Hard to believe that Cristian Guzman is, of all players, now a two time all-star. That is the benefit of playing on some of the worst teams of the past decade I suppose.

Zimmerman, Dmitri Young, or Nick Johnson would have been my guess.

Also, I was ready to disparage Billy Wagner because it seemed he blew like 14 saves in a week right before the Mets fired Randolph, but as it turns out he’s doing really well this year.

Did anyone else see the article in the sf chronicle about timmy? Two pictures of him as a pretty young kid. One shows him about to deliver a pitch, actually looks very similar to now.

Congratulations to Tim and Brian
Their stats prove that they should be there. No doubt it. Relax and enjoy the experience.
We will be rooting for the you.

That guy who struck out 16 Marlins that one time. Wonder whatever happened to him. I don’t think we’ll ever find out as long as we live. We’re probably better off not thinking about him. In fact, forget I said anything.

Help
If Timmy’s going on Tuesday, then he would also go next Sunday, which would give him 2 days rest for the AS Game. I’d almost rather see him not pitch if that’s the case.
