Nick names for Freddy Lewis aka "The Epidemic"

This guy needs a nick name.  Probably my favorite player on the Giants just because he has so much raw talent.

I was thinking about it and you could pull off a T-mac type thing and call him "flew".  Or you could play off it and call him "The Epidemic"

Any other suggestions.  The guy is too much of a boss not to have a legit nick name.  Lets hear what you have to say.

Notgardo, I still love you -- but you're grounded. No Guitar Hero for a month, no Cheez-Its for two months, and NO BASEBALL! This hurts me as much as it hurts you.

Not very creative

It’s not very creative, but I like “Fast Freddie.” Thank goodness he’s playing well enough that no one can reasonably call him “Freddie the Freeloader.”

You could also take the Flew pun in another direction – flying. As in flying all over the outfield, trying to catch a ball, but never quite getting there.

Thus, I propose Amelia Earhart. Y’know, sort of like how Linden was Magellan.

I tried to get Right Said Fred to stick but that never worked. I called him Fab Five Freddy briefly in 2007 as well.

From wikipedia….

The group is named after a novelty song of the same name which was a hit for Bernard Cribbins in 1962.

You might be right, but I assumed it was from the group by that name who had the hit “I’m Too Sexy” back in the nineties. I’m sure THEY named themselves after that song though.

Does every really need a nickname?

I’m happy enough with Freddie.

Why not find out what the guys in the clubhouse call him? From what I know, just about every player has a nickname, the public just doesn’t always find out.

He’s been quoted as saying his mother calls him Fredrick, he does not like Freddie, and he answers to Fred. Whether he gets that or not is another story.
