Failure
The trade deadline has come and gone, and Rich Aurilia, Omar Vizquel, Randy Winn, Bengie Molina, Dave Roberts, and Tyler Walker are still on the roster. Sabean had the chance to move Aurilia. I don't care if we only get Boof Bonser; the important thing is to get rid of at least some of Richie's salary, and give our kids a chance to play. We could have dealt Molina. We probably could have forced the Marlins to give us something better than Mike Jacobs. (someone like Gaby Sanchez or someone else in their farm system) We could have also packaged Taschner with Molina to get maybe two B level prospects, but of course Sabean doesn't have the guts to make a move. Im sure we could have moved Randy Winn, but Sabean considers him a key part to our success next year. PSH! A solid 3 hitter my arse. .280 with 5 home runs. Jose Castillo has become our everyday second baseman, and as Damon Bruce says, Omar hasn't missed an inning since you know what. Nate Schierholtz is going to be looking at another year and a half of the minor leagues. It is absolutely ridiculous that he is not our starting RF. This season is becoming painful to watch. Sanchez seems hurt or tired. Bowker hasn't made contact for a month, and our new infield is 3b-Rich SS-Omar 2b-Castillo.
I vote Damon Bruce should become our GM

a) Damon Bruce is a hack. Mentioning him undermines your credibility.
b) Was this thread really necessary when there are 3-4 thread discussing this same thing?

a) I concur
b) I think we need another thread to discuss that.

a) I concur as well. It doesn’t just undermine the credibility, it demolishes it.

More like Bruce completely breaks down your credibilty into new sub atomic particles that astrophysicists are still trying to find a name for.
On the good note I think your first paragraph is pretty much spot one. Though Bowker does not bother that much. He is a rookie. Basically jumping an entire level of ball and learning a new position at the same time. Surprise ( well more like not) he struggles.

Part of my brain just died reading that.

Damon Bruce I’m sure that his obnoxious sound effects, women’s sports bashing and his general level of arrogance plays well in the midwest and/or with the junior high demographic. I can’t believe he was the best they could come up with to fill that time slot.

Ray Woodsen should be given the show ASAP. He’s fair, smart, and funny. Too bad he does not use a “pound it, pound it, pound it” sexual refrence from a 70 year old woman. That would make him a media superstar.

In other news...
A little bit of poetic justice tonight. Dodgers are down 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th. Runners on second and third, one out (after Pierre sac bunted runners over).
Kemp hits a fly ball to left, Ethier at third tags up and is thrown out at home. Dodgers go 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 9th, lose 2-1. Hooray!

I would call you an idiot, but that isn’t even necessary in this case
I actually tried to listen to Damon Bruce on my way home and I couldn’t stand more than 3 minutes of it. Talk radio is awful and Bruce is among the worst. Bring back Larry Kruger, at least he said something notable.

I would only begin to consider it with the following contract stipulations:
1. No dealing with the Cubs
2. No sound effects
3. No speaking, at all

Though TT seems to have some broad comedy appeal, and Downey Jr. will probably knock me on my ass laughing if they managed to stay on the right side of that line they’re walking there, I’m just not sure that I can handle another Ben Stiller vehicle…

I would normally think the same way. But Downey Jr. is likely to be so good that this movie could have Stiller, Sandler, and Meyers in it and I’d still go see it.

Depends on what type of Ben Stiller vehicle you are talking about. I’m all for the cocky stupid Derek Zoolander/White Goodman character, but hate his seemingly normal but everything that can go bad will character he plays in Meet the Parents/Something about Mary/Heartbreak Kid. TT character looks like it could be good.
Also just as the Will Ferrell or Ben Stillers comedy seems to have run their course, we might be saying the same for the Judd Apatow/Seth Rogan vehicles.

I vote this the most idiotic post of the season. The writer complains, early in the piece, “give our kids a chance to play,” then, a few lines later is bashing Sanchez and Bowker. Aren’t they kids?

I think we can have a pretty good debate about what part of this post was most lame. I’d argue for the assumptions that Sabean could have got this or that for this guy or that guy, like he was in Sabean’s office listening to the speakerphone during conversations with other GMs.

While everyone else has belittled all the other parts of the original post, I must ask… Why would we possibly care about getting rid of Aurilia’s salary at this point? The payroll is in like the 70million range. Ridding Aurilia’s salary does nothing at this point.
