3rd Annual McC Night at the Yard: Tuesday 8/19

The date is set, and I know it won't work for everyone, but there's no date that will. Sorry.

We'll be attending the 7:15 game vs. Florida.  TK, Grant, The Mayor of 311 and myself will be sitting in my seats.  The Mayor is once again making his two seats available.  If you're interested in buying them ($26 each), write to him at RPMatth at aol dot com

Everyone is encouraged to get tickets and go to this damn game.  (The nice thing about a Tuesday night game against the Marlins is that tickets won't be too difficult to find.)  Use this thread to find others who might be interested in going with you so you can sit together.

Even if you can't make the game, you're encouraged to attend the pre-game libations at Zeke's (3rd and Brannan.) We'll meet up there about an 6:00pm.

As the title suggests, this will be our 3rd year doing this.  Last year we had about 10 people show up at Zeke's and it was unanimous; meeting Grant was a letdown but meeting me was the highlight of everyone's life.  (Grant was hoping for more female groupies, and the ones who did show up didn't even ask to have their breasts autographed.)

So there ya go.  Any questions?

Actually, I’m apparently flying to Atlanta the next day. Though I don’t think the flight is until like 11.

I don’t know. :(

Dude it sucks because the day they unveil the Cepeda statue I’m flying back from Detroit. I should call my dad and tell him he’s ruining my life.

I think I could go. I mean, I could just pack early. We’re only going for a few days.

A WHO statue?

I don’t get it…why (Barry) does Orlando (Lamar) get (Bonds) one?

I think the fact that he’s in the Hall of Fame has something do to with it.

Lamar could still play. They gave statues to the old farts first. Give him another ten years or so.

Not only will I be there but I’m emailing the Mayor asking if I may buy one of his tix.

The Mayor wants to sell both tix so…I have to ask if someone here wants the other one. But the lot of you are smelly boys who have cooties so what am I to do?

You are neither smelly nor male, and I’m pretty sure if you have cooties they can’t get me.

Great! You and JPonry can get my tix

I already told La Baron, but we’ve agreed that she and JPonry will be in the Mayor’s box. I’m glad it works out with both your schedules.

I won’t be there guys, so I think it’s fair to say that Barry Bonds won’t be breaking Hank Aaron’s record that night (which only happens on nights when I attend the annual McCC Night at the Yard).

Last year's get-together was fun

It was much better than “Cats”. I’m going to go again and again. Put me down as “probably” for Zeke’s and “maybe, as long as Zito isn’t starting” for the game.

No, my Crazy Crab bobblehead is not for sale.

Durn it

I keep wanting to go to one of these type of things but I keep not being able to go. This time it’s looking like I’ll be teaching a class until 6:30 in Cupertino.

Two words: stomach flu

Damn things come on so suddenly, and go away just as fast. A shame, really. Especially if it means cancelling a class.

on account of being unemployed and poor. If I can land a job before then I will definitely be there.

On a side note, anyone hiring?
