Julio Mateo has been a naughty boy

This story looks pretty bad for Mateo. Arrested for (allegedly) passing counterfeit banknotes. Victor Santos may be tied up in this too. I imagine this is the end of his career - he's been pitching pretty crappily in Fresno.

I particularly love the way Mateo gave the game away - when the police come up to him, before they've said anything about counterfeit notes, he says "I didn't pass the bad money." Of course it's not the only game he's given away lately; his ERA in Fresno is 5.69.

Yeah yeah yeah

But can he play third?

Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.

You just can't trust a guy...

...who beats, chokes, and bites his own wife. Who woulda thought that he was a bad dude?

Don't play a dangerous game.

LOL, did he really give himself away that early? My God there are some dumb criminals out there. Leave things to the Joker.

Julio Mateo should have known that it’s just not about money. It’s about sending a message.

Is it mean that I laughed at that?

"While conservatives tell you 'leave things alone and no one will lose,' and liberals tell you 'interfere a lot and no one will lose,' baseball says 'someone will lose.' Not only says it - but insists upon it! ... Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature." BVCE supports SF Dugout and Manny Burriss.

Couterfeit bills

Not stated in the article was that the currency was discovered as a forgery because Mr. Mateo had the headshot of Atlee Hammaker of the face of the $100 bill. Julio should have known that one cannot do that and expect to get away with it.
