ya i was a huge fan back in the day when i was like 10-15, then it just kinda fizzled out for me. Remember when DX firts formed and they were the baddest of asses, that was awesome.
I'm young but i didn't fall off the truck yesterday!
Smackdown used to be really awesome when it had Eddie Guererro, Christ Benoit, Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio, and Edge (the “Super Six”). Then they decided to break that up and things haven’t been the same since. I’ll still check in on the WWE once in a while to see what Chris Jericho or Shawn Michaels are up to since they’re my favorite wrestlers, but it’s been a mess for a while.
To me, it all started falling to crap when ECW and WCW died and there ceased to be competition. TNA, despite a ridiculously talented roster, has failed completely to recreate those old days.
Yeah
The competition really brought out the best in wrestling. TNA has all this potential, but they keep ruining it by bringing in old WCW and WWE castoffs. Also they’re so aggressive in trying to promote themselves as being so much better than the WWE, when they could be using that time to focus on themselves.
DIE CASTILLO.
If my head is full of white hairs by the end of this season.. I blame Brian Wilson. (I'm only 22, dammit!)
Does
that lineup make anyone else want to vomit? And I mean violently!

There was a blurb in the Chronicle this morning that made it sound like Roberts is the LF starter now and he was just getting a day off yesterday.
:(
(Here it is: Roberts was off one night after he had Thursday’s game-winning hit, but is expected to play today.)
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
One can only hope.
I am not so sure. I think the people at the wheel either do not want or do not know how to rebuild.
They are too concerned with not bruising egos.

Yeah, I was reading in the Tribune that they started Lewis last night because they knew they were going to start Roberts against Webb tonight, and didn’t want Lewis to have 3 days off in a row. As if the Giants needed to justify not starting Roberts, the HERO of Thursday night.
Adopted Giant: Travis Denker. Good?

maybe trying to up his trade value before the deadline is my guess
by po on Jul 26, 2008 4:48 PM PDT up reply actions
Yeah, I guess. I think I’m just frustrated about Vizquel and how he’s totally awesome now so they’re backing off of their comments to play him less. 3-game hitting streaks!!!
I’m just afraid the same thing kind of thing will happen to Lewis if Roberts happens to have a little hot streak.

Anyone know a website where I can watch the steam live for free today? Does such a thing exist or is MLBtv only option?
I’m outta state today but really dont want to miss seeing this one :(
I doubt it
you cant even listen to the game on knbr’s live internet feed. Which sucks when you live in Oregon and cant afford MLB.tv.
I'm young but i didn't fall off the truck yesterday!
you can’t pull in KNBR up there?
it also looks like there’s a Eureka station and a station in oregon
http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/sf/schedule/radioaffiliates.jsp
and yes, I miss the days when the feeds were free…
Ya, no i live in an absolute black hole for radio frequencies. I can get KNBR when the sun goes down and i turn the right way in the car. And holdmy hands at a 45 degree angle while reciting the entire Old Testament.
I'm young but i didn't fall off the truck yesterday!
We sorta have that here in Sac. In the livingroom good reception, in the bedroom it’s hit and miss, unless the neighbor turns on an electrical appliance…then nada…
They do have antennas for radios, they are something like tv rabbit ears… I considered getting one, but then changed my mind, so I don’t know if they work.
Oregon Giants affiliate 1360 AM
Giants games are the top priority when there is no NASCAR racing, college baseball, H. S. baseball, horseshoe games, infomercials or airshows to broadcast. The signal fades into mariachi at night and is turned completlly off around 6PM on the weekends if I remember correctly. Otherwise, it’s a great affiliate!

Well...
I live in PDX, and this station’s transmitter is in Hilsboro, and I never am able to get this station in Portland itself without major manipulation the forces of nature. Not sure where the original poster was requesting information for, maybe it was Hilsboro/Beaverton/andy of those other suburban towns I have never been to.
yeah, well, the whole world stinks, francine -- so get used to it!

thanks for that
I’m heading to the PNW and beyond for 2 weeks, this will come in handy. Although I will probably have to bite the bullet and get game day while in Alaska.
Mass transit to Dodger Stadium update
About a month ago the question was asked if there was mass transit to Dodger Stadium then answer then was “No”, however, now the answer is “Yes”.
LOS ANGELES, July 24, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/—Starting tomorrow, Dodger fans can travel for free on a shuttle running between Union Station and Dodger Stadium on game days. Fans living in the greater Los Angeles area can now take various rail and bus services from throughout the region to Union Station and enjoy the free service, presented by the City of Los Angeles. Shuttle service begins 90 minutes before every home game for the rest of the season, and concludes one hour after the game ends. Fans will be dropped off outside of Lot G near Autograph Alley behind the pavilions at Dodger Stadium.
they could probably cease service after the 7th
Derin McMains had five fingers, but he only used three.

So
I am confused about the signings. What if the Giants dont give Gillaspie, Kieshnick, and Crawford the money they feel they are owed are they gonna sign anyway or walk? Or is that to much speculation?
I'm young but i didn't fall off the truck yesterday!
if they dont sign by the 15th I think the giants get to pick again next year in same spot / or sandwich round depending on what round they were drafted. Not entirely sure little too complicated for me to keep up with

by po on Jul 26, 2008 5:40 PM PDT up reply actions
Well
what I am confused by is no matter how high they feel they should have been drafted, they were drafted where they were. They should be feeling lucky to have been drafted at all! Even they are damn good at baseball, it is still a privledge to just get to play the game as a pro. IMHO.
I'm young but i didn't fall off the truck yesterday!
remeber though Lincecum was drafted like....
3 or 4 times before he was comfortable signing.
by po on Jul 26, 2008 5:34 PM PDT up reply actions
For rounds 1-2, the team gets the same pick +1 (i.e., if they don’t sign fifth overall pick Posey, they’ll get the sixth overall pick in 2008).
For 3rd round picks, they’ll get a pick in the sandwich round after the third round.
There is no compensation for unsigned picks after the third round.

One of the suspects SF picked up in the Ray Durham deal is starting tonight for Fresno. Steve Hammond will be making his starting debut for Fresno tonight.
What
Mcpherson is starting at 1st tonight, I refuse to see how signing him and not Castillo would have been a bad thing he can play first and third! And mash, I know he hits the hitter friendly ballpark and all but he might have worked out well for us. Maybe, Im just pissed to see Castillo in the lineup and batting second. >:(

Good ol' Ben Snyder
What has happened to the brother? He was shiny, shiny for Augusta and San Jose and now he can’t find north. Snyder got ripped another new one today to raise his ERA to 8.33 in AA.
YESS!!!!!
Wait I thought the Yankees were the evil empire and Hank Steinbrenner was Darth Vader.

This is a bit of a hobby horse of mine, but these are the times when I wish Bochy would toss a fit. That’s ridiculous, but he just wanders out and complains mildly for a minute or two. Bleh.
They should be able to walk down the line and check it.
Calling the play fair initially, let them play it out, then go check.
Mike Krukow on Matt Cain’s bobblehead promotion: “It can’t throw a fast ball, but it can BOBBLE in the high 90’s.”
