Anyone seeing this on TV? What’s the radar gun have Cain at? Sounds like he’s working 90-91 today, which is low for him.

Mmmm, leftovers for lunch

I tried a new recipe last night – Drunken Spaghetti. Despite the name, there’s no booze involved – it’s a Thai dish, and apparently got its name because it has lots of hot peppers and they’re considered a hangover remedy in Thailand. Also has lots of garlic, basil, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and other goodness. Came out so well I may have to do another recipe fanpost.

No, they look forward to it. This way they don’t have to do infield practice the rest of the week.

Isn’t it statistically probable that you’d score a run with a runner on second and no outs?

Were the Giants factored into that study?

A few years ago, I read it was something like 55%.

Is that right, stat fetishists?

Depends on the run scoring environment, but here is a chart.

So, 1.19 expected runs.

You would think it would be statistically probably for the Giants to win more games for Matt Cain when he pitches so well. But nope, that is why they’re the Giants!

Grr, probable

Cain's gonna have to hit one out

Don't think, it could only hurt the ballclub.

Pitcher’s spot due up fourth. Big decision for Acta coming up!

To the stat cave, nerds!

The Giants have not scored a run during the last 22 innings that Matt Cain has been the pitcher of record.

Wow. Just, wow.

If giants score in the 8th… think they’ll leave in Cain or bring in Wilson?

If my head is full of white hairs by the end of this season.. I blame Brian Wilson. (I'm only 22, dammit!)

We will see when Cain is supposed to lead off next inning.

They’ll leave Cain in until he either wins or loses.

he should begin the 9th

by wilriv21 on Jul 24, 2008 2:26 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Cain hit 94 MPH in the 8th inning

Him mixing speeds = fewer pitches + better command seemingly.

Or he’s just not trying as hard because the Nationals are as inept as the GIants.

if this game goes 20 innings, you’re gonna need to ramp up production on “Open Gameday Thread IV: Judgement Day” very quickly.
