Anyone seeing this on TV? What’s the radar gun have Cain at? Sounds like he’s working 90-91 today, which is low for him.

by xanthan on Jul 24, 2008 1:27 PM PDT   0 recs

gameday has him at 89-90.

by toofruss on Jul 24, 2008 1:28 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

That’s a little concerning.

Just saw 94 on TV. Who knows what that means, though.

It seems like recently the stadium gun has had a bit of a Zito bonus added to it, though.

Perhaps he’s just taking some MPH off his fastball, mixing speeds is a pitcher’s friend.

I wonder if he was shaded that way because it’s Roberts first start back from the DL and maybe he (Rowand) was wondering about Roberts’ range right now. We’ll never know.

Mmmm, leftovers for lunch

I tried a new recipe last night – Drunken Spaghetti. Despite the name, there’s no booze involved – it’s a Thai dish, and apparently got its name because it has lots of hot peppers and they’re considered a hangover remedy in Thailand. Also has lots of garlic, basil, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and other goodness. Came out so well I may have to do another recipe fanpost.

The site gets slower than Bengie when the comments start piling up.

I’ve felt like this wasn’t too big a problem since auto refresh came along.

It gets hard to post comments and navigate when the site lags.

No, the threads used to start freezing up for me around 400-500 comments on the old site too

by jponry on Jul 24, 2008 1:39 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

The auto refresh can get pretty slow, too. My favorite is the 5 minutes of inactivity followed by a clusterfuck of 45 comments appearing at the same time.

When active threads get big, the site gets slow.

Sometimes threads get really big because no mods are around.

by howtheyscored on Jul 24, 2008 1:38 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

The driver is the number of replies

Once there are too many replies, a new thread is created. Otherwise the site responds very slowly.
