Giants make roster move
to be announced tomorrow.
Who do you think got traded? Winn? Aurilia? Winn? Winn? I hope it was Winn. What teams in contention need an OF or utility IF? Will we get someone at least at the semi-prospect level like Denker? Are our chains being pulled and it's going to be Ochoa going down so McClain can get a cup of coffee? What SJ Giant will be used to fill the roster hole?
Open rampant speculation.
This is according to Damon Bruce on sportsphone tonight.

Really hoping it’s an Aurilia or Winn trade. I’ll still feel sad for either one, because I felt sad for Ray too. But changes are happening. This is good.

I like your thinking
but technically, that wouldn’t be a roster move…

Hey hey now…this feels kinda good not having to stand up for that washed up piece of trash anymore.
Woohoo. Three cheers for fast guys never getting out of the minors!

I heard this on KNBR also. My guess is Aurilia, which is too bad cause Richie is a gamer. My favorite of the overpaid vets.
But the real question is which do we trust more? Radio or print media?

but I didn’t say I STILL smoked, just that I HAVE, with MANY ballplayers. But drugs are bad for athletes.
BTW what’s a sarchasm?
all i can say is
it’s not as bad as Pol Pot, but better than Mother Teresa. Otherwise my friend might get in trouble.

ok, ok
since Grant asked, let’s just say some of the guys have been enjoying the hospitality of Corozol.

Its not a trade. Andy Baggerly says the Giants will send down Eliazer Alfonso and probably bring back Holm.

that would be a waste
He would never get ABs up here with Molina still on the roster
Unless he assumes one of the infield corners

I'm driving the Sandoval bandwagon
And even I think this would be a terrible idea. Which means it’s very likely that it will happen
Billy Hayes: His job is better than yours.
i dunno
i don’t think a pablito call up in september for him to get a few at bats and a taste of life in the show would be a bad thing, as long as it came with the understanding that he would almost certainly be starting next season in fresno. i do agree that the last thing we’d want though is to have him in sf sitting behind other guys all the time (see: Burriss, Manny).
Idolizing Robb Nen since 2002...

Woah woah woah!
Nobody takes the bandwagon away from Dad. Dad drives the bus. I’ve seen every sports movie ever and Dad is always driving the bus. When it’s my boy’s time for the show I’m personally picking him up in CT or Fresno or Richmond or wherever and driving him to AT&T. Take a seat in the back Delorean!
My boy ain't fat, he's just big boned. Big bat, too.
but then he'd take ABs away from Bowker
Who won’t get playing time in right field because of winn.
THERE ARE TOO MANY FUCKING VETERANS ON THIS TEAM!
I don’t think we’ll see Pablito until next year anyway.
And as soon as I say that, you know he’ll be here tomorrow.

well thats a let down
I was expecting more
what in the fucking fuck
goddamn motherfuck this fucking teams roster management.
What the fuck was the point of sending Holm down and bringing Alfonso up for TWO FUCKING STARTS????
I hate the management of this goddamned team.
Billy Hayes: His job is better than yours.
Maybe
Maybe Steve Holm was sent down to get regular at bats for a while.
For 3 weeks?
Meh, I guess. I still think it’s bullshit. Has he been killing it in Fresno?
Billy Hayes: His job is better than yours.
Makes about as much sense as sending Zito to the ‘pen to iron out his problems, only to magically return one missed start later. We aren’t stupid Sabes…if you’re going to have him skip a start, just be honest and say so from the beginning.

Alfonso down, Mythbuster up
Henry Schulman confirms the move as well

I doubt
I doubt that the move is a trade of either Rich Aurilia or Randy Winn, since both players were in the lineup tonight. It would be nice though. Both would be even better.
I'm thinking
If we hadn’t traded Durham, and we sweep the Nats, again, would Sabean be convinced to be a buyer?
Source
Damon’s source now says the move is sending down Alfonzo to bring up Holm, as a poster hypothesized above.
i haven't animated it all yet
it’s become a lot more work than i expected

Context
Listening further to Damon Bruce on this roster move thing, that the Giants wouldn’t say anything other than to announce that a move will be announced tomorrow would indeed make it seem that something beyond Alfonzo down, Holm up is going on here.
I guess we’ll all find out tomorrow—and THAT’S no fun. :)
let’s hope there is more. maybe we will get Matt Holliday or somethin. That would be amazing but we all now that would NEVER happen. If there is a trade it will be some minor one involving one of our veterans

+1
hahahahahahah that actually made me laugh out loud
this must be that bombshell he was talking about
Rafael Rodriguez: Felipe loves him almost as much as Jim Brower
Schulman's article
also says Bochy and Sabes talked to Vizquel and told him Burriss would get a majority of the starts after the trading deadline and that Vizquel was OK with it. Well, of course he’s OK with it—he said as much a month ago and they’re still starting him.
Color me skeptical. Burriss will probably get more starts in his first Arizona Fall League game than he’ll get the rest of the season.
No, my Crazy Crab bobblehead is not for sale.
Bengie Molina. Maybe?
Found this article… Make a lot of sense… http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/03/giants-like-kot.html
good one

If they're trading the starting catcher...
...why would they be sending down the backup catcher at the same time? That makes none sense.
The All-Father is now a Giant!
by EliminateMe on Jul 23, 2008 12:14 AM PDT up reply actions
Who says they are sending their...
backup catcher down… everything is still speculation until tomorrow.
this backup catcher thing…did they really check out Eliazer in 11 at bats? I kinda doubt it.
Did they figure Helm is a better player now and should get the backup starts in July/August? Or are they just alternating the 2 so they each get some atbats?
Or, let’s be byzantine, management chose to pay Lazer some ML salary to make up for the time he was banned, kind of a thanks, pal for trying to bulk yourself up for the team’s sake
adopter/sponsor of "Go, Antoan" Richardson
I don’t know what they were thinking, but I was done with Lazer (this year) the minute I saw him.
you can't block the Bocock
not a fan of Notgardo at all. His defense doesn’t just does not play. He had a nice little year a couple of years ago, but he does not posses the skills to be a backup catcher in the bigs. Holm does, and he should be the backup for the forseeable future. I’m hopeing he was sent down to get some AB’s, so he’ll be ready for the increased workload as Benjie needs to rest more in the 2nd half.
I like...
the wait ‘til Aurilia is traded idea…
in his best shatner immitation…
it….makes…..sense…....SPOCK?
