Now that a bit more than half the season is gone, I thought it would be fun to reprise -- and re-prize -- the great Parody Contest of the Giants 2008 "Gamer" ads. Here is the link to the pre-season contest, in case you're nostalgic:

As always, the standards are pretty amorphous. Clever, witty, funny is WAAAAAY more important than technically excellent Photoshopping/what have you.

Winner gets a pair of my tix for some mutually agreeable game. IN 2008, not when the team's good again. Have fun, and thank you talented people for creating some fun for the rest of us.

You need to use a website like Photobucket or Imageshack. Also, the file has to be a .jpg, .gif, or .png. It looks like you have a Microsoft Word document there.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately
unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: “Ray is a Gamer” Television Advertisments

Units: About 41,907

Importer: San Francisco Giants Front Office

Hazard: These advertisments could generate a feeling of sadness now that Ray Durham has been traded. Possible symptoms include a longing for Ray Durham to return in 2009.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported as of yet.

Description: The recall includes all “Ray is a Gamer” television ads. These advertisments have the words ” Ray is a Gamer” printed
somewhere in the ad. Ads may also include the text “Richie is a Gamer” or “Aaron is a Gamer”

Broadcast from: April 2008 through July 20, 2008 on Comcast Sports Bay Area

Manufactured in: San Francisco

Remedy: Consumers should stop veiwing the advertisments and contact the San Francisco Giants . If you feel the need to bring back Ray Durham, please see the Giants 2008 Amatuer Draft immediately.

No it was arrows pointing to delorean’s “Null Set” circles. The one on the right looks like…..I guess if I have to explain it, the attempt at humor is long since past :-)

Am I the only one who thinks the cover looked like Barry Obama wearing a roll of TP on his head and Michelle looking like Foxy Brown?
