Around SBN: 2012 Budweiser Shootout Entry List Released

Open Gameday Thread, 7/19

Milwaukee Brewers at San Francisco Giants, Jul 19, 2008 1:05 PM PDT

Does anyone have last night's game still on their DVR? Fourth inning, section 103, Mike Cameron was up, and I actually looked the ball into my glove this time. I doubt I made it on the air, but you never know....

proud father of the newly acquired Brandon Crawford..

by Azmanz on Jul 19, 2008 1:09 PM PDT up reply actions

OPS+ = 100 * (OBP/lgOBP* + SLG/lgSLG* – 1)

Trent Kline: Decentish. Also, my website is called ChatterBalks Dot Com and on it I make jokes about things.

by groug on Jul 19, 2008 1:13 PM PDT up reply actions   1 recs

Because otherwise, if you’re league average in both SLG and OBP, you have OPS+ = 100*(1+1) = 200. That’s why it’s necessary to subtract one.

obviosuly kruk and kuip are homers; that’s their job, to advertise giants’ baseball. but they manage to combine that with a professional, humorous approach and aren’t nearly as bombastic (or drunk) as the announcers of some other team.s

At one point, I thought maybe Bill Hall would be an interesting fit for third base for us next year, since he was unhappy with the Brewers. He’s not exactly having a great season, though. Of course he’d still lead us in homers.

Not a lot of third base options on the FA market. Another year of Castillo at 3B? Joy.
